Heya everyone! I know it's been 15 days since my hiatus and I am really sorry for being inactive. I missed being here in the community and I had limited time to do so because of the exam season. For particular reasons and unexpected events, I will no longer continue my academic rival series since I am plotting on making a rather interesting and original concept or storyline (in the near future). For now, let me cover you guys up with my life for the past 2 weeks, with my first stop, Dalaw Turo.

A day precisely after our exam, the Youth Environment in Schools (YES-O) held out an event to further deepen the connection between humans, specifically the youth, and Mother Earth. The whole seminar turned out to be trivial, as expected. However, it did allow people to open their minds on the raising issues that the world is currently facing, especially concerns about the state of the environment. The people who were there at that time were grade 8, 10, and 12 students since the other grade level students took their exams. I learned a lot, especially about the highly protected areas in the country. I also got to learn that the Philippines belongs to one of the most mega-diverse countries when it comes to natural resources.

As an appreciator of nature, I really appreciate the lengths they've done just to educate the youth on how to help and resolve problems in the environment, considering the increasing concerns that affect human health and the resources we need to function properly for everyday living. We filled in some forms based on our prior knowledge about environmental resources and watched various presentations about landforms and living organisms, such as their habitats. Me and my friends sat next to each other during that time and I couldn't help but feel the slightest bit of nervousness because they might ask me questions of some sort, but since I was willing to participate, I took note that I should also not forget to socialize and help encourage the others to do the same and act upon the existing issues around us. It's time for a change, and the youth are one of the most powerful instruments that can allow us to shape the future into something better. There is no denying that the world is not in the best condition lately, but we should all find our own ways to contribute and save our planet because without it, we won't have a place to consider "home".

Learning more about our biodiversity in our country is nice ha and in seminar forms. Usually, you can just read them in textbooks and they are BORRRRINGGGG 🙃 .

Hopefully, there will be field trips too in the future, mas exciting yun since it is interactive din.
