Join me on my new experience attending the debut party of my acquaintance Queenie as one of her 18 candles.🎊
One day, an unexpected chat really caught my attention. I was surprised that one of my acquaintances invited me to her upcoming debut party. She sent me an invitation, which surprised me. I am not really sure if I can go at that time at that time because I don’t have any idea what gift I would give her. Since my boyfriend is coming, I decided to go. She also asked me if I could ever be one of her 18 candles. I said yes because who am I to say no? (HAHAHAHAHA) And I decided to give her a dress as my birthday present because, of course, I don’t want to go to her party empty-handed.
When I already decided to go, I asked her what’s the theme of her birthday, and she said that it’s gold and maroon, so I immediately looked for a top or dress that was either gold or maroon. Gladly, I remembered that I had a top that I ordered that was maroon; it’s actually for my birthday outfit, and since it didn’t arrive on my birthday, I didn’t have a chance to wear it that day.
The day of the party.🍾 I quickly prepared myself and headed to the venue, which is in their house. When we arrived together with my boyfriend and friend, the party was already starting. It started with 18 roses; her father was her last dance with a bouquet of flowers. After the 18 roses, her parents gave her a short message.🌹
The dinner followed, and since the dinner was at the table in a line, we decided to take some pictures first of the debutant.📸 When it’s our turn, we quickly fall in line, and the food looks good. After getting food, we go back to our respective tables. We are full after that delicious dinner.🍲
The event continues with the 18 candles after the dinner. I am one of the 18 candles, so I have already prepared myself for my speech. The host told us to fall in line at the back, and they distributed the candles to each of us, then he individually called the names of the 18 candles.🕯️I was the last one to be called. We make a circle, and in the middle is the debutant. Each one of us gives our message to her, and then her mother is the last one who gives her message.💌 When everyone is done giving their speech, we go back to our seats for the next part of the event.
It proceeds with the 18 treasures, and even though I am not one of the 18 treasures, I still handed my gift to her.🎁 They also have some trivia questions about the debutant.
It’s time to blow out her candles in the cake. We sing happy birthday to her. She didn’t expect that her cake was a money cake.🎂 It was so simple yet elegant.
When the program has already finished, it’s time for the debutant to express her gratitude and feelings to everyone, especially the people she wants to thank.🫶🏻
After her speech, the party continues. Since it’s already late in the night, we decided to go home first, so we asked for permission from the debutant and thanked her for inviting us, especially me.💕
As the final notes of the evening faded, I realized being one of the 18 candles was more than an honor; it was a symbol of our shared journey. Watching her blow out those candles, I felt the warmth of friendship and the promise of new beginnings. This night was a reminder that life's milestones are best celebrated together, illuminating our paths with cherished memories.✨
As I draw to a close, let us never forget that supporting one another is what will always make us stronger.
