Manga Mondays #5 Share Some Manga Recommendations

It's a new weekly series like AskAnime where I ask for Manga recommendations. I binge read a lot of manga so I tend to run out of titles on a weekly basis so it'd be great if you guys can give me some recommendations.

#mangamonday5:

Share a completed manga that depicts a tragic story, completed or ongoing, if it's still ongoing, at least some 20 chapters in. I know tragic story is a loose subject since it can be a subplot for an existing major genre but at least make it a predominant theme like Buta no Fukushuu just to set a type of story I'm looking for.

NOTES FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK

I've already sent some tips to those that engaged with the post. I saw nobody made a separate post using the #mangamonday4 tag.

Mechanics:

  1. Entry can either be a comment under this post or a separate post with a hashtag #mangamonday5. Please note the number "5" at the end of the hashtag is an indicator of the week number and it'll help me search for recent entries on the succeeding weeks. Making a separate post is preferred but settling for a comment is fine too.

  2. If you make a separate post about the recommendation, you don't need to specify that it's "Manga Monday Contest Entry 2" or something along those lines, just post it like any regular review post on the community. This isn't a formal contest as the criteria is just looking recommendations to read about.

  3. Reblogs or upvotes are appreciated but not necessary. Just comment the recommendation or make a post about the manga, that'd be fine.

  4. It doesn't necessarily have to be a manga, it can be a manhwa or manhua.

  5. If you already made a post about your recommendation, let's say a manga review posted months to years ago, drop it here as an entry.

  6. You can do multiple entries in the comments or post but bear in mind that if you shill me a bucket list of titles, I'd probably ignore it.

  7. Community mods will be curating the entries for engagement. This doesn't mean big votes, we could just be handing out Hive tips for those that engage more just as what we do on AskAnime weekly.

  8. Deadline for entries will be 12 AM Thursday of the week New York Time EDT. That will give you ample time to come up with a post should you prefer to do separate posting for an entry. If you're bothered with the time zones, you can just make a mental note that that age of this post doesn't get passed 2 days before you make an entry to play it safe.

Hello manga/mahwa readers!
if i were to suggest a manga for anyone, I would ask them to read "Legend of the northern Blade."
Its more around the time of the murin war. A boy watched his father get betrayed by the people he found along the way because he discovered the secret to why the war continued. The people he worked for conspired to get him executed and they did it. His only son was abandoned because they believed he couldnt pose a threat. Now, he father hid all the secret fighting art in the town which the boy learned and became the biggest threat. Its worth reading and you will love it if you give it a try. Trust me on this #mangamonday5

Looked into this for the first few chapters and bookmarked. Seems like the kind I'd binge read too. Thanks

Trust me, you would love it 😍

You had probably read Death Note, and I find its ending quite tragic with all the deaths that happened. Anyway aside from it, there's a certain manga that really put me on the edge of depression, and it's Oyasumi no Punpun. It started grimly, but I continued reading it in hopes that the plot would lighten up.

But... as the story went on, it became darker, to the point that I somehow stopped because I knew it would not really end well. Anyway, a strange force compelled me to finish it, and of 'course I really had that empty feeling after it ended. Btw, it isn't fantasy; it's heavily based on real life, which I find really tragic because I know there are really real Punpuns out there.

Love this one, it's currently what I'm reading right now.

Berserk immediately comes to mind but you probably read it.

Parasyte is pretty tragic. At first you want to eradicate the aliens but later on you will sympathize with them.

Re:Zero is not your typical isekai overpowered MC. He has to use his wits as he dies and reincarnates to prevent the deaths of his loved ones.
