1 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Listening to the doctrines of Jesus Christ our Savior, helps us to understand the doctrines in the church. The church is the house of God. Every household has its rules and principles. We cannot use the rules governing Mr X house to run Mr Y’s house. In the same vein, the household of God has it own rules that govern the conducts of every member. We cannot be in the house of God and behave like those in the world. Those in the world are controlled by the ways of worldliness. As children of God in the house of God, we have to live our lives and conduct ourselves according to the doctrines of God as written in the Bible.
Baptism Is A Necessity
Mark 16:16 (KJV) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
In the church we are baptized before we can become members. Jesus Christ our Leader was baptized. We must receive baptism in order to become members of the church. Baptism is a doctrine instituted and commanded by Jesus, Matthew 28:19 Everyone who wants to accept these doctrines must be baptized. It is through baptism that we are distinguished as members of the church of God.
Beware Of False Teachers
2 Peter 2:1 (KJV) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
There are people who are teaching things which God has not commanded. Those men are false teachers. They teach men to go against the doctrines of God. They interpret the Bible based on their lustful desires. Their aim is not for the salvation of souls, they are after what material gain they can make. We must be careful so that we are not deceived by these false teachers.
The Doctrines For Our Salvation
John 3:18-19 (KJV) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
