A meet up write up.
There will be about 16 of these write ups in the next few days. Some posted one after the other, while some days behind or even weeks. I am not sure where mine will lie since I am not sure how I'm going to approach this. I arrived early. Lets just say I arrived with a gate in sight, 'Closed' before me. I am not of the notion of just going into a place first since I am not the organizer and am do not see myself high enough in the food chain to just step into a place thinking I am the shit.
I know I am the shit. But that doesn't change the fact I am also nobody.
Well here is one of the photos I am using from the night curtesy of one of the participants.
Thanks girls for the pic. I couldn't workout how to get some bang for my buck so I decided to turn it into a gif in honor of your loveliness. Of course I had to use a pretty face as the cover girl. If you in the @hiveph commune you will know who I picked as the face of the cover photo/gif.
Well the day was hot and I had been carrying a 10k backpack with awkward straps around my shoulders. I am not complaining since you cannot complain over spilt milk you can only make do with what you've done. I went for a walkabout around outer Makati looking for a cafe to just get out of the heat. I spent an hour walking round and found one. I quickly took it upon myself to get a cappucino and a table and seat to just cool down with a hot coffee... Ironic but I don't enjoy iced coffee.
I found a place and a table. Coffee was decent for the price, in fact it was pretty schmick if I do say so myself the guy even gave it to me for a discount thinking I was crazy sweating and asking for a hot coffee. But hey what ever.
By the time I had finished my coffee my Grab had arrived and if you notice the meetup venue is just over the higway across from the block of houses from me. But I tell you walking around and having to walk again back to the place I am not looking forward to that heat. There is a heat wave in the Philippines in the last few days. I seriously think it is because people are always cutting trees down to turn into charcoal without replanting replacement trees which is kind of stupid since the government gives out saplings for people to plant. Maybe people are getting dumb from not having enough to eat so they turn desperate and do not think about tomorrow but only today. I think the term is first world problems in a second world world.
I get back there and the crew are there getting the place in order. It was already five in the afternoon or close to it. I ask if there is alcohol and we only had six beers. I was not having any of that. Grab? where are you I need alcohol. HAHAHAHA
Tons of food. Tons of giveaways and lots of activities for the whole night ahead of us. By the time the place was in order I had yet to touch a single beer and the delivery had not arrived yet. Of course I eve gave the wrong address on my initial order, cancelled and reordered, smooth really. Grab I give you points for the ease of doing that.
Well the party kicked off at about 8 PM, I was hungry but of course there is a program so had to wait for that food to enter my mouth. Intros and what not came and gone as quickly as an awkward smile before you really get to know a person.
Censorship. Hmmm I think I am winning in that front. I am blocking any and all images of a face other than the ones I deem too good not to share... My audiences demand a restitution to get the facts right so I have ensured any and all images from the night have the right blurs and covers to those who request them. Even ones where I am in it. Thanks Witty for the headache patch. I have not yet used it but I will. Someday, any day and all day.
Karaoke was king at one point even though TP got the coveted 100 point score I was adamada in trying to get the 50 point score to win some sort of underachievement award. I failed miserably because I kept getting either a 100 points or somewhere close, the machine must be broken cos I suck at karaoke.

Oh as I write this I am watching the movie, Humane. Pre apocalyptic style movie that is kind of dystopian and psychological in character.
Well I won't bore you too much because TLDR and the conversations really were things that was best experienced when you were in there listening and interacting. Oh I was a little disappointed we didn't get to play Werewolf when everyone was still there but we did play other more adult oriented games that resulted in lots of laughs and no awkward silences.
So after an hours worth of sleep we checked out of the place and headed our separate merry way. I went to my hotel and worked out then we met up again, the gang! and visited an orphanage. The ninja in the picture is Arc LOL, sorry Arc. I was outside of course cos I was too casually dressed and did seem fit to fit in the whole visit thing.
It was a hot day.
Sweat kept trickling down my chest, which fit in with my chest workout.
Then I said adieu to Manila and that was that.

Thank you for the fun conversation Aku! Dami kong napulot na lessons and chismis along with all your kalokohan. Haha! Next time we'll keep in mind that if Aku is in the event, there should be a steady supply of alcohol. Hahaha!
