Night Out With Friends In Shinjuku

in Actifit4 months ago

An eventful night.

That’s how I would describe what last night was. I met with my friends, the ones living here in Tokyo and some friends who came over for vacation. We all had a big and noisy dinner together. I’ll talk more about that in another post.

After dinner, we didn’t want to part ways yet though @appleeatingapple already voiced she’s sleepy. A baby like her values her sleep too much. I was hyped though, I couldn’t sleep yet at this time.

So we walked and walked around Shinjuku, visited cafes hoping they’d accommodate 11 people but in the end, nothing. Either they’re done for the day or they didn’t have enough seats for a big group like us. This is what I’ve always noticed in Japan. It’s hard to find a place to accommodate a big group of people. If you’re alone, you can get a seat right away. Very opposite from where I grew up.

We came from Kabukicho, yeah the red light district I’ve been talking about in my posts but we’re just in the safe or eating zone so we didn’t see anything spectacular except for the usual.

Now, we’re on the other side - in our usual place around the bus terminal of Shinjuku. We call it バスター (read as bas-ta) which is a shortcut of “bus terminal”.

Anyhow, it was a long walk going here and we were ready to sit on the benches braving the cold weather but when we arrived it was off limits. We think it’s because the area’s still wet and they haven’t cleaned it yet from the snow the other night. We didn’t have any choice but to stand and talk. We’re not yet done talking and making fun. 😂

Eventually we found some seats so some were able to sit like me who needed it badly, while we’re waiting for some friends do their errands.

It was hard to walk around in heels especially that I wasn’t used to it anymore. I’ve been just in the house or when I go out, I wear sneakers. Just tonight I felt like wearing my boots with the heels. And now, my feet’s tired. 😂

While walking home, I thought of taking a photo of the street because the leftover snow from the other night was just interesting to look at. You could clearly see what’s been passing by this alley.

All that walking have given me 10k steps but my exercise ring didn’t close! Argh! Reminding myself to turn on the activity next time I walk around.
