Uphill And Downhill In Baguio

in Actifit15 days ago (edited)

Yesterday there was a lot of walking.

I woke up past noon. My mom wanted us to go out and see more of Baguio. I told her she and my brother could go and I’d just be with them later, but she didn’t want to go out without us being complete. I may look like her but our personalities are so different. I can roam freely alone, while she’s still so dependent of me and my brother. That’s okay, it’s not all people are born to be independent like me anyways.

Since they had to wait for me, it was already around 4pm when we left the airbnb. We walked to SM Baguio via the Session Road. Found this symbol, which I’m not sure of. Is this some kind of pine? I really don’t know. I’ve been seeing a lot of these in Baguio.

We reached the mall and looked for a place to eat. I didn’t like the food court, it was too dark. SM Baguio is one of a kind, it has this terrace overlooking the city. I like that it’s accessible by the crowd.

See that lake over there? We’re heading that way later, after eating here in SM.

As for food, we settled in Max’s Restaurant. It was like super late lunch and very early dinner. Despite this resto being known for its chicken, I ordered fish fillet and sago’t gulaman for drinks, and got pancit canton for sharing. I really wanted to eat fish since I’ve been eating a lot of meat lately but I realized I didn’t like how sweet and sour the fish was. It’s too sweet for me now. My drinks were too. I shouldn’t have gotten the drink all you can drink.

I wasn’t feeling so well yesterday either. Even after eating, I felt a little bit of stomachache and headache. Probably because it’s too hot. So to go to Burnham Park, even when it’s so near, we took the taxi.

Lots of fun in Burnham Park. The lake was so full of boats of different kinds. It’s around 200 php or more depending on the type of boat and the number of people riding. I knew the cost but we didn’t bother riding it. We were enjoying looking at them from land, wondering when they’ll end up in a collision. There were a few! 😅 But nothing to worry about.

We spent the entire afternoon there, just looking at people and how fun they were. While on the lake there were boats, on land, there were bicycles of different kinds. They have a small area of the park to use their rented cycles, and couldn’t use them beyond one point as there’s another company occupying that area for their rented cycles too. Everything seems to be a competition here.

The sunset was nice. At least that’s what I enjoyed. Oh I enjoyed the company of my family too. In the end, we sat on a bench in the park just waiting for time to pass. Even when we didn’t do any activities available in the park, it was still fun especially bickering with my brother.

Walked further to go to the night market only to find out at 7pm it’s not yet opened. I was so tired already, so my brother suggested to go back to the accommodation first while waiting for 9pm, the time the night market will open.

From afar we could see SM Baguio brightly litted.

The walk along the session road was so tiring. Up, down, up, down. My injured foot got flared up again because of lots of walking.

Exactly 9pm we went out to go to the night market. There were a lot of stalls. More than a decade ago, I came to Baguio with my friends and there were only few stalls that time. Now, it’s doubled.

I came here for food though. I didn’t like to shop (as I’ve been shopping lots lately). Found a bbq and bought some for takeout.

Shopping, ah yes. My mom bought some clothes for herself, and brother got something for his girlfriend. I didn’t get anything but that’s okay.

Saw some mushrooms here too! It reminded me of what @romeskie made for us (sponsored by @adamada). Thank you for the shrooms keychain! I like it better than this one I found on the streets. The one made by rome was like bulky and probably full of love (charot).

Lots of walking again just to get back to the accommodation. Baguio isn’t a flat land, so I think if I stay here longer, and walk around, I’ll lose weight. 😂

Anyways, that’s it for our family trip in Baguio. We’re now preparing to head out and travel back to Manila as of this moment. It was my mom’s birthday the other day and I still didn’t know how to greet her properly. No cakes and what else. It’s so awkward! Help! LOL I thought yesterday I’ll be able to buy her a cake and greet but still nah. Give me courage! 😅

Doubled my rings and I’m proud of it that I even posted about it now. 😂
Wish my body pains will all be gone soon.

See ya in the next! Thanks for reading! Enjoy your weekend!

Found this symbol, which I’m not sure of. Is this some kind of pine? I really don’t know. I’ve been seeing a lot of these in Baguio.

This spot used to have an actual live Pine tree which eventually was cut down by gov't. It caused a huge uproar from the citizens especially when it got replaced by a concrete pine tree. Ever since that, I think gov't try to decorate this artificial 'tree' regularly which can have a variety of themes.

i see, it's too sad they have cut the tree down and replaced it with this one. we need more trees but ayown lang

An amazing walk with the family, Baguio looks really beautiful, and I never been into Baguio saduuu. Beke nemen may teleportation jutsu ka jan madam from Japan, paturo, hahaha. Pero parang ako si Mother mo, di makalakad kapag wala yung isa, ako naman ang very dependent to my Mama, lol. Pag di sha kasama, di nalang ako tutuloy, lol

Hala? Dapat ma learn mo na yung skill to go out alone Ruff hehe

Saming crochet goodies jan. Dami ko nga nakakwentuhan na crocheter nung nag hoard ako ng yarm sa Hangar Market.

The one made by rome was like bulky and probably full of love (charot).

School break is almost coming, right? I think you can!

Yup... the problem is, I can't afford the trip for now. hahaha

ayyy yown lang, need to save up

Baguio isn’t a flat land, so I think if I stay here longer, and walk around, I’ll lose weight. 😂

The last time na pumunta kami dyan, my knees hurt because the paths are all stairs or the road curves upwards. 😂
