We wanted to do a session inside a hotel in Old Havana, but I had my doubts about who to ask for permission once we were inside. I spoke with several workers who served clients in the lobby of the Parque Central Hotel and none of them thought it was bad that a photographer was with a model taking the occasional photo. They did ask us to be discreet and to try to ensure that no client was photographed without their consent. Discretion included not using any type of lighting that I brought with me, so all the photos would have to be done with available light. Time to work with the conditions presented to us and find results in adverse environments! I raised my ISO to 2500, the speed to 1/100s and with an aperture of F4 I did the best I could. The new Adobe Camera RAw then did the magic on the grain removal part. My dear Deborah was up to the task. We did this sequence well away from the public moving through the lobby, we didn't bother anyone, and my model was a queen!
Queríamos hacer una sesión dentro de un hotel de la Habana Vieja, pero tenía mis dudas respecto a quién pedir autorización un vez estuviéramos dentro. Hablé con varios trabajadores que atendían a clientes en el lobby del Hotel Parque Central y a ninguno le pareció mal que un fotógrafo estuviese con una modelo haciendo alguna que otra foto. Sí nos pidieron que fuéramos discretos y que tratáramos de que ningún cliente quedara fotografiado sin su consentimiento. La discreción incluía no usar ningún tipo de iluminación de las que traía conmigo, así que todas las fotos tendría que hacerlas con la luz disponible. Hora de trabajar con las condiciones que se nos presentan y encontrar resultados en ambientes adversos! Subí mi ISO a 2500, la velocidad a 1/100s y con un diafragma de F4 hice lo mejor que pude. El nuevo Adobe Camera Raw hizo la magia luego en la parte de eliminar el granulado. Mi querida Deborah estuvo a la altura. Esta secuencia la hicimos bien lejos del público que se movía por el lobby, no molestamos a nadie, y mi modelo fue una reina!
