FALLING
Hello friends of cultivated light painting. At the weekend I was with @stepko and @candelart once again at the bridge in the middle of nowhere. This bridge is only about an hour's drive from Berlin. The bridge has been closed to car traffic for several years. We were completely undisturbed, apart from a curious hedgehog. The nearest small village is about 2 kilometres away. The next larger town is about 30 kilometres away. So there is very little light pollution there. Ideal conditions for our night-time work. Another advantage is that you can drive right up to the bridge. It's really good for my back when I can work from the boot.
Hallo Freunde der gepflegten Lichtmalerei. Am Wochenende war ich mit @stepko und @candelart ein weiteres Mal an der Brücke im Nirgendwo. Nur etwa 1 Stunde Autofahrt von Berlin entfernt steht diese Brücke. Seit einigen Jahren ist die Brücke für den Autoverkehr gesperrt. Wir waren komplett ungestört, abgesehen von einem neugierigen Igel. Der nächste kleine Ort ist ca. 2 km entfernt. Die nächste größere Stadt ist ungefähr 30 km weit weg. Es gibt dort also nur sehr wenig Lichtverschmutzung. Ideale Bedingungen für unsere nächtliche Arbeit. Ein weiterer Vorteil ist, dass man direkt mit dem Auto bis an die Brücke kommt. Meinem geplagtem Rücken ist es sehr zuträglich, wenn ich aus dem Kofferraum arbeiten kann.

@candelart had the fresh Frieda in the cool box. After we'd had a sip, I set up the camera and pointed it at the bridge. I mounted the stencil with the undressed lady on a second tripod. This was then to float above the bridge. The alignment and lighting of the lady proved to be somewhat difficult. I was a bit out of practice. After all, this was my first light painting excursion in months.
@candelart hatte die Frische Frieda in der Kühlbox. Nachdem wir uns einen Schluck genehmigt hatten, stellte ich die Kamera auf und richtete sie auf die Brücke aus. Auf einem zweiten Stativ befestigte ich die Schablone mit der unbekleideten Dame. Diese sollte dann über der Brücke schweben. Die Ausrichtung und die Beleuchtung der Dame gestalteten sich etwas schwierig. Ich war etwas aus der Übung. Schließlich war das seit Monaten mein erster Light Painting Ausflug.
Actually, it didn't seem that difficult, part 1 had to go over part 2. The two test shots already looked good. So I lit the floating lady first, then removed the stencil and then lit @candelart and the bridge. I used the Emisar D4K for this. Unfortunately, on the first attempt, which you can see above, I lit @candelart twice. During the long exposure time he had changed his position a bit.
Eigentlich erschien das gar nicht so schwierig, Teil 1 muss über Teil 2. Die beiden Probeaufnahmen sahen schon mal gut aus. Ich beleuchtete also erste die schwebende Dame, entfernte dann die Schablone und beleuchtete dann @candelart und die Brücke. Dafür habe ich die Emisar D4K verwendet. Leider habe ich beim ersten Versuch, den ihr oben seht, @candelart zweimal beleuchtet. Während der langen Belichtungszeit hatte er ein wenig seine Position verändert.

On my second attempt, the lighting of the stencil didn't work out so well. So let's move on to the next attempt. Hardly any of the pictures are really right at the first attempt. Suddenly it started to rain. Not just a few small drops, but a really heavy downpour. So we put the camera and the other stuff in the boot and waited until the shower was over. It didn't take long and we were able to carry on... well, we could have carried on if the stencil hadn't been destroyed by the rain. You can see the last attempt with the wet stencil here:
Beim zweiten Versuch ist mir die Beleuchtung der Schablone nicht so gut gelungen. Also weiter geht es mit dem nächsten Versuch. Kaum ein Bild sitzt wirklich gleich beim ersten Versuch. Plötzlich fing es an zu regnen. Nicht so ein paar kleine Tropfen, sondern so ein richtiger starker Regenschauer. Wir packten also die Kamera und das andere Geraffel in den Kofferraum und wartetet, bis der Schauer vorbei war. Das dauerte auch nicht lange und wir konnten weitermachen... also wir hätten weitermachen können, wenn die Schablone nicht durch den Regen zerstört worden wäre. As I hadn't planned another picture, I opened a second fresh Frieda and left the scene to @candelart and @stepko. The two guys then burned some epoch-making pictures onto their memory card, which they will hopefully present to you here soon.
Da ich kein weiteres Bild geplant hatte, machte ich mir eine zweite Frische Frieda auf und überließ nun @candelart und @stepko die Szene. Die beiden Jungs haben dann noch einige epochale Bilder auf ihre Speicherkarte gebrannt, die sie euch hoffentlich recht bald hier präsentieren.

I converted the picture to black and white just for fun. I think it suits this picture quite well, even though I'm not a big fan of manipulating my light painting pictures afterwards.
Ich hab das Bild dann mal aus Spaß in schwarz-weiß konvertiert. Das passt ganz gut zu diesem Bild, wie ich finde, auch wenn ich überhaupt kein großer Freund der nachträglichen Manipulation meiner Light Painting Bilder bin.
