Prague Metro Project - Line C - Station I.P. Pavlova (CZ)

Welcome to the next installment of my Prague Metro project. Today we will look at the first metro station located in the center of Prague. The station is called I.P. Pavlov and is named after the Russian physiologist Ivan Petrovich Pavlov, who studied the physiology of dogs and discovered the so-called Pavlovian reflex.

Vítejte u dalšího pokračování mého projektu Pražské metro. Dnes se podíváme do první stanice metra nalézající se v centru Prahy. Stanice se jmenuje I.P. Pavlova a je pojmenována podle ruského fyziologa Ivana Petroviče Pavlova, který studoval fyziologii psů a objevil takzvaný Pavlovův reflex.

The station is constructed by excavation and lies 19 meters below the surface. Exit is only possible from one side of the platform and is served by four escalators. The entire ceiling structure is supported by hexagonal columns. The interior of the station is lined with 8 types of marble. The station was designed by Interprojekt Brno and architect Otakar Maděra worked on it. The total price was 160.8 million Czechoslovak crowns. Which makes it one of the most expensive stations we have visited so far.

Stanice je zkonstruována hloubením a leží 19 metrů pod povrchem. Výstup je možný jen z jedné strany nástupiště a je obsluhován čtyřmi eskalátory. Celá stropní konstrukce je podporována šestibokými sloupy. Interiér stanice je obložen 8 druhy mramorů. Stanice byla projektována firmou Interprojekt Brno a pracoval na ni architekt Otakar Maděra. Celková cena byla 160.8 miliónu Korun Československých. Což ji řadí zatím k nejdražším stanicím, které jsme navštívili.

The vestibule of the station is also underground and due to the fact that the station is in the center of the city, there are usually a lot of people there. At the time I visited the station, I was lucky to see the lobby almost empty.

Vestibul stanice leží taktéž pod zemí a vzhledem k tomu, že je stanice v centru města bývá zde velmi mnoho lidí. V době kdy jsem stanici navštívil jsem měl štěstí, že jsem mohl vestibul zachytit skoro liduprázdný.

It was the same on the surface. IP Pavlova is a busy transfer station for many tram lines. There is also a busy multi-lane road, but thanks to Saturday morning it was quiet here. otherwise it tends to be very busy until the early hours of the morning. Because night buses and trams from the outskirts of the city cross here.

Podobně tomu bylo i na povrchu. I.P. Pavlova je čilou přestupní stanicí z mnoha tramvajových linek. Vede zde i rušná víceproudá silnice, ale díky sobotnímu dopoledni zde byl klid. jinak zde bývá velmi rušno do brzkých ranních hodin. Protože se zde kříží noční autobusy a tramvaje z okrajů města.
