Recognizing My Siblings' Achievement as A Proud Sister

Hello divers! Another month, another blog content for you all. How are you? I hope all is well and that each one of you feels excited about each month coming. Before I am able to get another surprise this month, I want to share these happy moments I have with my younger sibling as I had him be recognized and awarded with high honor at school at Tisa National High School, which is also my Alma Mater.

Looking back on those days, I also excelled in academics. Every school year, we have recognition, and my name is always included on the list. But sadly, every time that happens, most of the time, I feel no one is proud of me. I even experienced asking my friend's mom to join me on the stage when receiving my award. I cannot deny that I am longing for the feeling of having both my parents to join me as I will receive awards, but we are away from each other. That is why I don't want my siblings to feel the same.

His name is Jerold. He is the 5th among the six sibling. He is currently a Grade 11 student taking up an academic strand, GAS (General Academic Strand), since he is dreaming to become a future teacher someday. By the way, this sibling of mine is my closest.

As a proud sister...
Last April 19, 2024, is their recognition day, at the same time as grade distribution. The day before that, he sent a message to our family group chat saying he would be one of the students who would be receiving an award. We congratulated him. He never asked us if anyone could join him. Maybe because he had got used to it that no one would be coming with him. So I directly sent him a message that, if he wants, I can accompany him to tomorrow's event. Even without seeing his reaction personally, I know that he is happy hearing it. He was even concerned about having to leave my work just to attend his recognition, but I just said" No worries, I will be there on time". Without saying a lot, he just said okay, he even thanked me.

Reasons of my presence...
I have reasons why I chose to attend on his recognition. One of which is that I want him to feel that his effort and hard work in doing well in his studies is seen and appreciated. I barely even feel that during my time. That's why I don't want him to feel the same. I want to let him feel that someone is so proud of his achievements and he will not go to celebrate success alone.

Another reason I wanted to go to their school too is to personally be back there, since it has been my alma mater. I have been studying there since my 8th grade up until I graduated from my senior year. Being back for long years again makes me realize how fast times went. A lot has changed already. I can't help but reminisce about the memories and good times together with my classmates and teachers back then. Sadly, I was not able to meet my former teachers, but I am so happy to be back at the school that has shaped me into the person I am today and that has been a big part of my life.

To continue, I went to school as early since the program was starting at 10pm. When I entered their classroom, his teacher was having conversations with the parents. It seems they are having a grade meeting first before the awarding recognition and the grade slip distributions. So we attentively listened at first. She talked about the student performance and behaviors. When the meeting is done, the teachers start calling the attention of awardees if they are present around with their parents.

By the way my sibling is the only one who will received the with high honor awardee while the rest receives with honor award together with the perfect attendance award. So, he is the first one being called in front to received the award. I went with him and we took pictures together with his teacher, as part of the documentation and also with his friends. The calling out of awardees names continued. After the awarding, the teacher began distributing the grade slip.

You deserve a treat...
After that, we did not stay long, since it was lunchtime already. I have planned to surprise him with a treat to Jollibee for lunch because I think he really deserves it. He is so happy after knowing it. We dined at Jollibee- Punta Branch. When we got there, there were lots of people. We waited about 30 minutes before our orders were served. When our order arrived, we took the chance to take pictures for memories. After that, we ate our lunch while talking about random things. When we finished eating, we parted ways since he was about to go home while I had some errands to do.

Before I end this blog, I want to leave a message that:
"If you accomplished something, even how big or small it is, celebrate it because you deserve it."

That's it for now. See you next time😘✌
