Shrimp Sinigang

We Filipinos love to experiment every dish we cook. We do it with the best ingredients and use the best seasonings. Filipinos are known to be the best cookers and it simply just runs in the blood.

Sinigang is a famous Filipino soup dish which features a sour taste. It is one of the favorite soup dishes that we normally prepare. For today, I will be cooking shrimp singing.

We went to the market and bought 1/2 kilo of shrimps for ₱170.00. We also bought all the under ingredients needed for our shrimp sinigang.

First thing you have to make sure is to buy fresh shrimps and fresh ingredients. Nothing compares to how fresh and tasty the soup will be once you use just fresh ingredients.

We cleaned the shrimps and cut out the strings attached to it. Make sure to wash the shrimps thourougly.

I also added a couple of egg plants for our sinigang soup. It will make the soup tastier.

To add more flavor, we also added some onion.

To add a sour taste to the soup, we added some tomatoes. Tomatoes are a good source of sour flavoring, all natural.

We also added a sinigang flavoring to get the sour taste we are looking for.
If you are cooking sinigang, the more sour, the better. That is what we love most about a sinigang soup.

I also added some kangkong leaves.

First of all, boil some water into your pot. We do not have any big pot so we used this instead.

When the water was boiling, I added the vegetables first. (egg plant, tomatoes and onion).

After ten minutes, I added the shrimp, the sinigang flavoring and the kangkong leaves. I let it simmer.

After ten minutes, the shrimp sinigang soup is already ready to eat.

Uuuh shrimps looks so cheap and good and I love eggplants too, I probably will love this Filipino dish ❤️

Shrimps here in the Philippines might be a lot cheaper than in your country. Also, shrimps here have large sizes which makes it reasonable for the price. Eggplants are a perfect ingredient for our shrimp sinigang soup or sour shrimp soup. You will love this for sure!☺︎♡
