I recently took advantage of the Assassin's Creed Mirage free trial that was active from April 16-30. This is a game I have been curious to play, but I was in no way willing to spend money on it. I have played every AC game ever created, the the last three, Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla have all been impossible for me to finish. The games had just gotten too big and too repetitive. Mirage looks to change that with a call back to some of the original AC games, as well as a much smaller world and far less hours to complete everything.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is a 2023 action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. It is the twelfth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series and the prequel to Assassin's Creed Valhalla (2020). The game is set in 9th-century Baghdad, during the Islamic Golden Age, and follows the story of Basim Ibn Ishaq, a street thief who becomes embroiled in the conflict between the Assassins and the Templars.
The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 5, 2023. It received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its world design, focus on stealth, and return to form for the franchise. However, some criticized the characters and the story's reliance on previous installments in the series.
As mentioned before, the game is set in 9th-century Baghdad, during the Islamic Golden Age. Okay so I didn't watch a lot of it... but that's because I've somewhat lost my love for the game... there has been far too many that I couldn't keep up! The first one was truely out of this world and I had so much fun with it. This just doesn't look like it'll catch me!
I did buy Assassins Creed Valhalla on a massive special so I still have that to try out!
