My last grandmother at 97, passed away and so sorry that I never go home. Instead, I just requested live streaming during the internment or the burial from home exit yesterday, to the church service in UCCP until the cemetery for none Catholic individual. My brother made open the live streaming and I was grateful feeling I was just around during my absence. I am so sorry because, she told me to visit her before she died but I knew she had all the understanding for me.
My grandmother was born in Sugod Southern Leyte. She just met my grandfather in Davao. She was 6 years older than my grandfather but my grandfather died when he was 53 and my grandmother was 59. My grandmother was baby face and not looking 59 that time and just like 40 years old. She never had another man in her life. They have 4 sons and 4 daughters. My mother died last 2022 and one of my younger Uncle died 2017 with throat cancer. They all passed away without me in the Philippines.
My family didn't go to Bohol and we just watched the live streaming yesterday from 8 in the morning until 12noon and they went home for lunch. My son had no excuses for his OJT and my sister was not in good health past few weeks. The shool year end is fast approaching too. They couldn't go to leave.
This is the United Church of Christ in the Philippines, Badbad Oriental, Loon, Bohol chapter.
My two Aunties and one sister of my mother the eldest one was not around because she is sick now. They can't travel.
Ten relatives from Leyte came to the wake of my grandmother. Family from Davao came and paid respect to our lola.
I have first degree cousin, a seaman was not there and one Engineer who is working in New Zealand was among with me who just watching live streaming during the burial.
Pastors was serving our church long time ago. Since my mother died, she was officiating the prayer services, so with my father and now my grandmother. Every night, the church members came to our house and rendering prayer meeting. When my mother was sicked, she didn't go to church and this pastors came to our house visited my parent and gave holy communion.I appreciated her good deeds and performance being a leader in our church.
We sobbed, we cried, it didn't means that we were against her death. Death is a kind of fulfillment, it's a big win for our soul. We felt sad because we are just human being, May she rest in peace!
We won't forget this day and it will be always be remembered.
