My village my farm : Onion cultivation in summer

Hello friends, I have come to the village again today during the weekend vacation. I had to go to my sister's place for a small program. I reached the village this Friday evening itself; I have to go to his place tomorrow. Well, now there is not much work in the fields in the village; summer is in full swing. My younger brother always has some small or big work going on.

There is no big work for me in this season. I have come for two days. When I went, I saw that my brother and his wife were cleaning onions, which they had just brought from the field. Friends, we have cultivated sugarcane on a large scale this year. Sugarcane requires more water in summer than any other crop. In this season, only sugarcane needs water. But some vegetables, like onions and garlic, have to be grown. The garlic is now small and the onions are gone. This onion is not for sale; it will be kept dry in the shade for a year.

This also has to be distributed among friends and relatives who live in the city and will come during summer holidays. I have also put thirty-forty kilos in the car. Here, farmers grow onions in large quantities, which they go to sell in the market. Sometimes onions get a good price; sometimes the price falls so much that even the hard work of the farmers is not worth it. A huge loss is caused. We had planted these onions for the house; there are eight bags now. It has to be maintained throughout the year, kept in the open, and cleaned every now and then. Now I don't have time to go to the farm. Tomorrow I have to go to my sister's village, which is forty kilometers from here. I will spend one day there, then I have to go to Mumbai. Brother also had to come, but he has work here because our cow is looking a little sick. She is not eating. So the doctor has been called, and he will come tomorrow. Till then, I will go and come back by evening. Friends, we have a cow and she also has a beautiful calf.

By the way, we also have a goat, which has given birth to two beautiful calves. Along with his work, the farmer also rears them. The advantage of this is that he gets milk for the house, and their excreta becomes natural fertilizer for farming. This gives a good harvest. We have also reared a few Gavthi chickens. These also bring a lot of benefits to the farm. Friends, we get all this to eat naturally, but it also requires hard work to take care of it. Only then will the fruits of hard work become sweet. Friends, this was my weekend program and tomorrow I have to go back to Mumbai. How did you like my village? Please comment. Thank you.🙏
