RE: Proposal to Grow the Hive Ecosystem With the Everything App and One-Click Onboarding

in LeoFinance10 months ago

The Hive platform definitely needs growth so I am in favour of whatever drives that. I think the opportunity could be in niche communities, e.g. music artists, crafters, sports, that do not make it big on the corporate platforms. If you get a few people bringing over their fans then there is potential for it to take off.

We do have an issue with Hive as a brand name as it clashes with other things, but we need something to sell as the 'everything platform'. Leo offers a lot, but people will want games and other dapps. They need to know the platform offers those too.

We need to be wary of driving people away. I hear too many stories of people getting downvotes and just giving up. We need to deal with abuse, but just disagreeing with what someone is doing may not be reason enough to try to get them to leave. Some big accounts have strong ideas of what Hive should be, but it needs to be diverse.

I 100% agree. I think there is a TON of low-hanging fruit for us to gather small influencers and get them to bring their audience over.

Yes! We are building the LeoInfra onboarding protocol in a very specific way to benefit all of Hive

  1. User is onboarded into a 30 second process of linking a Web2 account to a fresh Hive account we create for them
  2. User gets to start using leofinance.io right away. Get them hooked by getting them to create some threads/posts and earn a little HIVE + LEO
  3. Once they start earning some crypto in their Hive wallet, our UI autonomously prompts them to take a short course on how to self-custody their keys and also teaches them about Hive Keychain and other wallet apps. From there, the course also talks about other ways to earn & interact on Hive and links out to those
  4. User earns a little crypto for taking the course (gotta incentivize them to take it, like Coinbase Earn program) and then they download their Hive account private keys and are also educated on the Hive ecosystem

This is our onboarding flow and how its aimed to get them:

  1. Hooked on leofinance.io to make sure they stick around
  2. Pay them a small amount of LEO to take a course on the whole Hive ecosystem
  3. Get them to become a multi-dApp user of Hive

We really want to work with other Hive dApps on this onboarding flow. Maybe even offering incentives for them to try Splinterlands, Hive Keychain, Actifit, etc... By offering them a few bucks to go to those dApps and do a few interactions

Our goal here is to grow the whole of Hive

That's what I want to hear :)
