What’s up Hive! It's me @diamondinthesky. How are you today? I hope all of you are doing well. I will share to all of you my job or routine every weekend. I have a lot of passion in life such as teaching, writing, gardening, cooking, traveling, and being a mother. I love all them.
However, my most favorite job is being a mother because a mother can be a teacher, a writer, a gardener, a chef, a traveler, and can be someone that influences goodness or upright belief in the family.
I regularly work from Monday to Friday in school from 7 o’clock in the morning until 5 o’clock in the afternoon in order to pay the bills in the house, to buy our foods, and provide the needs of my son and be able to help my mother financially.
On weekends and beyond 5 o’clock in the afternoon until the next day before 7 o’clock in the morning on weekdays, I am a cook, a gardener, a writer, and a mother. I almost have the same cycle or routine of life every weekdays and weekends.
Every Saturday, when I woke up, I directly take shower in the morning because I do not want to start my day without taking shower due to a warm temperature in my country. Taking a shower and then, prepare our breakfast.
After eating breakfast, I wash the dishes and clean the table. Then, I will wash all our dirty clothes using my hands for white shirt and undergarments, and for our colored laundry, the curtains, the blankets, and the beddings, I wash it using a washing machine.
At around 11 o’clock I stop washing clothes and I start cooking food for our lunch and after doing everything for lunch, I continue washing clothes and I usually finish at 1:00 or 1:30 in the afternoon. Then,after hanging all the clean laundry in front of the house,I let my son sleep and that is the period that I will start thinking and writing or I will just rest and sleep for one or two hours.
After writing or when I woke up, I will cook the left over rice into rice porridge with cocoa and brown sugar for our snacks and usually at lunch, I intended to cook more rice so that we will have left over rice to make porridge, and there are also times that I just cook rice porridge with chicken,and vegetables.
After eating snacks, I will clean the yard of the house, watering my plants, and start doing all my gardening activity. When the surroundings are getting dark or when it is already twilight, I stop the gardening activity and I start cooking for our dinner.
After dinner, I check the bags and notebooks of my son and try to help him with his assignments. However, my son does not want me to be around with him when he is doing his assignments in school. So, I just let him do his homework alone until he finish then I check his work if he do it right and let him repeat the work if something is not right.
While my son is busy with his homework, sometimes, I relax and go outside the house and stay in front of my mother’s house and bond together with my brothers, sister in law, nephews, nieces, and some of the neighbors and start a conversation. Sometimes, I watch movies. Sometimes, I start thinking and writing at the same time until I feel sleepy.
On Sunday morning, I usually woke up late and when I woke up I started the same routine. Taking shower and preparing breakfast. After breakfast, I clean the house. I start cleaning the living area, then the kitchen and the dining area. Then, I clean the bathroom and lastly, I clean and arrange my room.
Sometimes, I went to the market of my hometown on Saturday or Sunday to buy foods in the house and store foodstuff to cook for a week.
On occasion, I went to the grocery store in Prince Warehouse to buy groceries such as rice, canned goods, instant noodles, sauce, milk, hygiene items, and other items that we need in our house.
Once in a while, I bond with my son, nephew, and nieces by going to the beach, refreshing and unwinding during weekend.
I cook food and bring it to the beach in order for us to have food to eat after we do swimming or sometimes, I buy biscuits, bread, and cold drinks.
There are also times that I just stay on my room on weekends. I just do writing after finishing the entire task in the house.
Weekend is the best time for me to write and I am grateful that Hive was making known to me because it motivated me to believe and trust on myself that I can write. It brings back my self-confidence and rubs out my fear to write.
Most of the time on weekends, I carry out the job or profession of a mother. It is the most pressured job for me, yet my favorite one. I do not receive any salary from being a Mama, but seeing my son healthy, happy, and doing very well is the most fulfilling job for me.
When my son hugs me, smile at me,call me Mama, saying magic words to me like "I love you Mama", "Thank you Mama","I need you Mama", "I miss you Mama", and when he appreciated me as his mother, it is priceless or it feels like I win a big amount of money in the lottery.
I am not rich. I am a daughter of a farmer in the mountain village. I belong to a poor family, however the existence of my son in my life makes me feel like I am a billionaire. I love my child so much more than myself.
