I know, I know. It’s been said a million times before but I’m having one of those moments
Being in a major city, I often feel like my Hive earnings are not nearly enough to live and don’t even consider that as an option.
But when the economy is bleeding out and my income suddenly drops by 40%, I cannot imagine where I’d be without these savings.
I’ve rarely dipped into my Hive earning, but just having them there makes me feel a lot better and has prevented me from seeking some sorry form of employment, doing something I hate for less than I deserve.
Now it’s another one of those times.
I love working freelance and choosing my own students, only teaching middle school to adults and mostly one on one. I would not like teaching nearly as much if it were in the classroom because I know that the methods and techniques I’ve learned over the years work much better one on one.
It would be a shame to throw away the independence i worked 4 years on, and finally managed to get a 3 year visa with. But the economy is creeping up on me. I lost 2 students and 3 more have become less regular.
I’m once again considering dipping into my Hive wallet. Trying to hold off as long as possible, would love to see the price hit $0.50 or higher before I take anything out, but it is what it is.
I have savings for about one month and I keep earning exactly my living expenses every month, but if at any point I need money for something urgent, I will have to take out 3-5k hive.
Trying not to fall into scarcity mindset. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to earn a few hundred Hive/HDB every month and to have that safety net to fall back on.
I know I am not the only one in this situation right now, but its a bit of a shock because I was finally doing REALLY well for about 6 months, until around New Years.
Oh well. It is what it is.
I will continue to put my all into everything I do. Here’s to not worrying or sacrificing our achievements because of some little setbacks! Let crypto reign, lets see a $2 Hive, would love to hold until then 🙏
