I moved to Osaka in February and was really flustered after returning home. I spent more time than I thought I would in adjusting myself to the procedures and new life back home, and before I knew it, it was May. I would like to resume my travel blog from my trip to Mexico from the end of October to November last year. As I look back at the photos, I am once again thankful to my friend and his wife for a really good time in Campeche.
大阪に２月に越しをして、帰国後は本当にばたばたとしていました。 帰国後の手続きや新しい生活に自分自身を慣らしていくことに思っている以上の時間を費やし、気が付けば５月になっていました。 昨年の１０月末から１１月にかけてメキシコに行った時の旅行ブログを再開したいと思います。 写真を観返していると、改めて本当によい時間を過ごすことが出来たと友人夫婦には感謝しています。
As I wrote in my previous blog, when I visited Campeche, it was the time of festivals in Mexico and the "Day of the Dead" was celebrated. I was unaware that I was visiting during this time, but it was a very good memory for me. My friend suggested that we bake bread for the dead, which is baked during this time of the year, and we started baking in the morning. I watched in admiration as my friend prepared the bread quickly and efficiently. I was standing beside him, talking about the old days, while he explained to me how he baked the bread.
この前のブログにも書いたのですが、わたしがカンペチェを訪れたときはメキシコではお祭りの時期で、「死者の日」をお祝いする時期でした。私自身知らずにその時期に行ったのですが、本当によい思い出になりました。この時期に焼かれる死者の為のパンを友人が焼こうと言い出し、朝からパンを焼くことになりました。 手際よくさっさと準備をする友人の姿にただただ感心しながらその姿を見ていました。 わたしは横で昔話をしながら、友人にどの様にパンを焼くのか説明を受けていました。
Time to relax and drink some beer!
I stayed at a friend's house for a month and enjoyed talking with my friend about the old days. After a long time, I met my friends again, and drinking beer in the garden reminded me of my school days. They have two dogs in their big yard that we took in from a shelter. There is a slide and a handmade swing set that my friend's wife had installed for her children, and a large avocado tree grows at the edge of the yard. Even in November, when I visited, the temperature was over 30 degrees Celsius, and I enjoyed drinking beer in the hot temperatures. The bougainvillea garden made me realize that I was now in Mexico.
１か月の滞在期間、友達の家に泊まらしてもらったのですが本当に友人とは懐かしい昔の話で盛り上がりました。 友人とも久しぶりに再会したのですが、ビールを庭で飲んでいると学生時代を思い出しました。 大きな庭には保護施設から引き取った２匹の犬を飼っています。 友人の奥さんが子供たちの為に備え付けた滑り台や、手作りのブランコがあり、庭の端にはアボカドの大木が生えています。 わたしが行った１１月でも３０度を超える気温で、暑い気温の中で飲むビールは最高に美味しかったです。 ブーゲンビリアが咲く庭にいると、今、メキシコに来ているんだなぁと改めて感じました。

My friend's daughters are 2 and 5 years old, and the younger one was just starting to talk a little bit when I went to Campeche. They would often come to my bed and ask me, "Are you sleeping well? I'll lend you this doll. You will sleep well. They were really kind and gentle with my daughter. I felt that my friend and her husband had educated their daughter very well. Thank you for giving me a lovely doll. The cute doll sat by my bed for the duration of my stay. I started learning Spanish words with her, which motivated me to start studying Spanish. Now that I am back in Japan, I am still trying to learn a little more every day. Thanks to Duolinguo Spanish! Gracias!

友人の娘さんは２歳と５歳で、下の娘さんはちょうどわたしがカンペチェに行った時に少しづつ話し始めた時期でした。 ２人とも、ちょくちょく、わたしのベットに来て、「ちゃんと寝れてる？この人形を貸してあげる。良く寝れるよ。」と言ってくれました。 本当に気だての優しい娘さんに育っていて、友人夫婦の教育がしっかりしているなぁと感じました。 可愛い人形をかしてくれてありがとう。 かわいらしい人形はわたしのベットの脇に座らして滞在期間中はいました。 一緒にスペイン語の単語も習い始めて、わたしがスペイン語の勉強を開始したモチベーションになりました。 日本に帰ってきた今でも毎日、少しづつ頑張っています。

メキシコに滞在期間中は多くの新しい今まで食べたこのとなかったメキシコ料理をたくさん食べました。 友人が料理人と言うこともあって、簡単にできそうな料理などは友人に教えてもらいました。 この写真のメキシコ料理は近くの屋台に買いに行ったのですが、このパヌーチョスと言うメキシコ料理は大好きになった！

I hope to write a blog again soon about the many photos I took on my trip to Mexico. I am very grateful to my friend and his wife for giving me the opportunity to make many memories that will last a lifetime. I would like to go to Mexico again with my sambo. I hope I will be able to speak a little Spanish by then.
