Good day, Hiveans! I’ve been a passive person here in the community for 5 days and it’s been 2 days since the last content I posted. I’ve been trying to practice more about how to balance my work with my interests. Unfortunately, as I assess my performance for this week, it needs more improvement. The good thing about it is that I tried. Soon, the time will come, and it will be a satisfactory performance as I do my best to balance my work with my interests. Anyway, I hope you're fine while reading my blog today.
Today, I want to share my experiences during my travel in Valencia, Negros Oriental. In a previous blog, I shared how I traveled to Dumaguete City. Valencia is the neighboring town of Dumaguete City. Before we settled down to our destination, Dumaguete City, we first visited the tourist spots found in Valencia, Negros Oriental.
Reading the previous blog found on the internet and asked one of my relatives about Valencia. We had the lists of the spots found in the place.
Monkey Viewing in Buayahan
This spot was just an unexpected find. We were planning to visit one of the spots on Google when we were found a crowd and curious enough to make a stopover. As we stopped, we discovered that the area had access to view monkeys. Since monkeys in our town are hard to find, we enjoy capturing the monkeys in the area. There is no Entrance Fee, but the assigned person is asking for donations to help monkeys buy their basic needs. I like how friendly the monkeys are in Valencia and they are used to people being around too. I don’t know how many monkeys there are, all I can say, is that a lot of monkeys in the vicinity.
The first spot we visited exceeded our expectations and I was excited to visit the next spot.
Waterfall Along the Road
As we moved to our next destination, we passed another interesting area, the Waterfall along the road. We were amazed as we witnessed a waterfall on the access road that could be viewed for free. We felt jealous that the place had more water resources compared to our town. We stopped and captured the amazing place. When my cousin shared our experience in the waterfall, one of our relatives told us that naturally, the waterfall that we witnessed was not the same every day. We were lucky enough because the main source of the waterfall had plenty of water stored. After all, three days before our trip, the area experienced a tropical storm.
Sulfur Vents

Originally, this spot was the first on the list, before our trip to Dumaguete City, I was curious about the place. This spot was my great motivation to visit Valencia. I was intrigued to see a place full of sulfur. As we arrived at the place, what we saw on the internet was 100% identical to what I saw in reality. The place was magnificent and it’s FREE ACCESS and NO ENTRANCE FEE. Who would have thought we could witness a natural sulfur released from the mountain? The mountain has no living things found. It was purely the rock formation and the sulfur. The difference between the picture and reality was that I discovered that sulfur vents released an awful smell that we need to wear a face mask to protect our nose from the smell. Nevertheless, the bad odor is nothing, we want to capture the magnificent natural resource that we removed our facemasks when we took a picture with it. The result of the picture is beautiful.
Red Rock Hot Spring
The Red Rock Hot Spring was the last stopover on our trip to Valencia. When we went to the place, we encountered a funny scenario. One of our relatives told us that visiting “Pulang Bato Hot Spring” was the best spot you cannot miss while visiting Valencia. My husband as he set the direction of the place using his phone, saw a sign This Way to Red Rock Hot Spring, first, we believed that our destination was not the place we saw on the sign because according to our relatives, we must visit Pulang Bato. Only then did we realize that the English term for Pulang Bato was Red Rock and the place we thought to not was our last destination. As we arrived at the place, we laughed at our situation not able to realize the name.
I thought the Sulfur vent was my fulfillment, but the Hot Spring completed my trip to Valencia. It was my first time taking a dip in a hot spring. The experience was wonderful. The water smelled like rust because the town was rich in sulfur. I didn’t mind the smell; the hot spring released the stress from my work, and I was happy.
Overall, Valencia, Negros Oriental is 101% good destination for a natural lover tourist.

Yeah. We only spent 100p for the hotspring. The rest was no compulsory payment. ☺️
It can be challenging but I hope you will be able to work out a balance between your work in interests.
The places you shared are amazing, especially the hot springs and the sulfur vents. The monkeys reminded me of a time when we went for a hike somewhere in GZ and one monkey dived into me (my mistake because I was holding food), lol!
