I wanted to make a second participation in the challenge dedicated to the earth. I only had the fabric from an old hammock plus colored threads and it occurred to me to make something embroidered alluding to the theme.

I started by making a sketch of what I wanted to embroider on the page of a drawing block.
With a lid I made the circle to represent the earth, then I drew the continents, a family, a 🏡 little house, a 🐢 turtle, a 🦋 butterfly, a dragonfly, the sun, clouds, mountains, a river, and a 🌳 tree.
Comencé haciendo un bosquejo de lo que queria bordar en la hoja de un block de dibujo.
Con una tapa hice el círculo para representar a la tierra, después dibujé los continentes, a una familia, una 🏡 casita, una 🐢 tortuga, una 🦋 mariposa, una libélula, el sol, nubes, montañas, un río, y un 🌳 árbol.
I traced the drawing with a light paper similar to tissue paper. I actually used some paper that comes in shoe boxes.
Calqué el dibujo con un papel claro parecido al papel de seda. En realidad usé un papel de los que vienen en las cajas de zapatos.
I sewed the traced drawing to the fabric with a temporary seam.
Cosí con costura provisional el dibujo calcado a la tela.
That way I could embroider guided by the lines made by the thread.
De esa manera pude bordar guiandome por las líneas hechas por el hilo.
In the embroidery I used the crochet hooks to draw chains and the blunt-point needle to fill in color with simple stitches and knots.
En el bordado usé los ganchillos para dibujar cadenetas y la aguja punta roma para rellenar de color con puntadas sencillas y con nudos.
