My Actifit Report Card and Update: May 1 2024

Hi Everyone,

It’s Actifit Report and Update time. I’ve had another reasonably busy week. I’ve been out in the garden again. I mowed the top area of grass. It was the first time I could access it this year. The reasonably dry week made that possible. I think we went about a week with minimal rain. That is a rarity these days. Hamlet and Lily are definitely happier that their area has mostly dried out.

The grass was not as thick as I anticipated, which was good because the more powerful mower was damaged when I mowed the front garden. The weaker old mower handled itself pretty well. Still, I think it needs some help. I have ordered a metal bladed trimmer to help out with difficult to reach grass and sections that have become a bit thick. I don’t want my only mower to break.

My Content

I managed to pump out two posts since the previous report. The first was the video and post for the Vegan Festival and the second was my monthly Sapien Loop Quiz.

The Vegan Festival was around 10 days ago. Most of the work for the post was done in preparation and at the talk. So the task at hand was editing the video and providing some extra content to support the presentation. In the post, I discussed the logic that went into the topic and content of the presentation. I also discussed the content of the video. I added a few pictures from the event as well.

I was happy with how well the post and video was received. I think it made it somewhere on the trending page at some point. That was great. It has been a long time since any of my posts have done that well. That is some incentive to go out and make another presentation next year. Well, it wasn’t entirely my presentation. My sister presented the second half of it. She did a tremendous job. Overall, the presentation was around an hour. If you make it to the end of the video, you get a little treat. Hamlet the Happy Pig has a music video.

The vegan presentation might have been a success but the Sapien Loop Quiz didn’t do as well. We had a record low 5 entries. I expanded the quiz to Part 2 of the book and I reduced the entry time to 5 days. Since it was the third quiz of the year, I was hoping people would have read ahead to at least Part 2. This month, I’ll go back to the 10 day duration.

Most of the week I have been working on the second book in the series. I’m making great progress. The fourth quarter of this year is a reasonable target. That is quite exciting. Book sales of the first book have remained slow. I’m about to start another marketing campaign. I’m going to do it a little differently. Hopefully this time, I can actually sell some books.

That wraps up this Actifit Report and Update. I will be posting the results of the quiz in a couple of days. I should also have another post out before the next report. Not sure what that will be about yet.
