Photography unveils Cultural beauty.

Pleasant greetings everyone 🙌. You are welcome to my blog.

I am so happy to be sharing this photos with you all. They were taken yesterday being Sunday and it was all so lovely.

Sundays are for going to church, a must if I should add for a Nigerian Christian. Some of is youths decided to dress in cultural attires as against the siut clad up we were used to. We wanted to infuse cultural vibes in our services, simply to make the day colourful. Coupled with the fact that May twelve happens to be the birthday of a beloved pastor and elder in my church and we all wanted to celebrate him in a special way.

Dressing in my cultural attire would pose a problem because my tribal costume is too revealing and skimpy to wear to a church service and I am too modest "to cause heads to turn in church*, hehe. Every youth had to be culturally arrayed but still be decent while at it.

I was perplexed on what to do and how to go about hitting the nail without breaking any heads or rules and that's when it occurred to me that it was not specifically mentioned that you must come dressed in your ethnic attire but simply to come in a cultural attire, phew!, I had to release that breath there....such a relief.

So I got searching for the nicest cultural attire I had and my eyes laid on two outfits that I immediately got the idea to fuse them together. The attire was a mix of Yoruba and Edo tribe, both from the Western part of Nigeria but with varying differences.

How I was able to pull that outfit mix off was sheer genius and I can't help but flaunt it, just incase someone out there wants to do something unique.

For the Yoruba tribe, I represented with an aso-oke while for the Edo tribe, I represented with the famous red coral beads in only four sets because I didn't want to overdo it. The gown I wore bothers on Eastern tribe which is my origin. Everything combined to make me look like a royal princess, hehe and I loved. Only thing missing was a horse tail wand known as irukere in Yoruba language. Have a look at the shots in full below, hope you like it 😁.

Thanks for reading and viewing. First time posting in this community 💃💃💃. Stay awesome everyone!

Images are all mine.

The irukere would have made more sense as to making you a Queen or Princess of a kingdom 😎😎 Cultural attires makes one elegant and speaks so much of our culture. I love rocking my natives too to show I am a Yoruba lady.
