... more information on this particular genetic below. We are growing quite a few different types of apricots but this one has been the most hardy and fruitful so far. Very sweet when tree ripened! The pluots and pluerries aren’t far behind these apricots. They have apricot genetics in them. Plums and peaches soon too. Please stay tuned for more #dfood from our food forest....as the fruits ripen....here in S. Utah. We appreciate ALL of you! Have a beautiful Sunday in your part of the world! -Jake and the Raw Utah family

Wahoo! So do y'all dry or preserve your excess harvest? What do you do in the off season when the forest isn't producing? Aid the most important question of all: do you have chickens???

good morning nate!!! :) thanks bro! wahoooooo! right now...we don't have much excess harvest with the apricots. we just introduced them a few years ago. we are eating them fresh and drying them in our dehydrators. i love the idea of using them for preserves though too. as far as chickens, we are in an area of our town that is not zoned for them. we called the city...and they said...many just do it and hope the neighbors don't complain. we opted/adapted... early on...to grow worms...for our soil amending needs. for eggs...we source locally and trade or buy from those growing chickens. i sure would LOVE to have them though. ducks too. i would LOVE to have them helping me grub for critters....and for our kids to enjoy them. you're very blessed! ;)
