i really would have liked that job.. ..

in #applyinglast year

it's always a bummer when you get any kind of rejection.

i kinda new in my heart that i would not get the role but sometimes in life you have to have a "punt" at things. most of the time you have to conform and play the life game, get the titles, the hattips, the handshakes, pretend you are not there just for the money and really you wanna be "family" and "be there for the culture"

puke.

let's be real here, everything is speculation economy.

but really, i did want the job. not enough to have to rebuild my cv over and practically beg for the job but i added my details anyway, of course, it was rushed and thrown together and so that comes across as apathy. i get it, you want to be wow'd -- because wowing you there, creates the illusion in your mind that you'll wow in your company and "do the job" that was asked of you.

jobs are weird man.

the way we expend time for money is wild.

jobs are changing.
heck jobs are going away.
40% vanishing they say.
ai is taking over, you can see it everywhere.

the notion that i need to keep a document up to date with the things that i've taken part in and done is kinda silly, i'd rather push daily updates as i make something new, we really should have tools that make up a digital cv as we go along in this world. way better than a cv anyway.

i still think manual work for me is the move, anything that helps with paying the bills, putting a bit away into digital projects and hoping to see them grow. i'd love a digital job but i'd want one at a company that see's what the future looks like in the short term.

of course company culture is important to me as long as it's 2-way and around respect. of course i'm geared to earning more money and make more money for the company that i work for (otherwise i'm just burning their runway) and i guess i want to work in a role that has a real world perceived value rather than just doing busy work, ya know?

anyway, happy to be back to daily (or near to it) vlogging. it's funny how a simple tweak can motivate me enough to dig out the laptop, click one button to open a template, decide on what style of shot i want and then just record, takes all the pressure out of making a vlog.

i could make multiple shots and this and that, fancy lighting but you know the story is more important than the visuals. we seem to have this tech hardware bro culture that's kinda spawned just focus on "what you have" rather than "what you say"

i guess that's why we all live in our own little bubbles, on our own little missions, people don't really vibe with the drama of others lives these days, keep it simple, keep it local.

keep it family.

humble x
