This would not have affected me as I use a hardware wallet and do not see any scenario in which having my ERC20 tokens on CoinBase would be beneficial to me, that being said I have retweeted this as I know many who use Coinbase as their main wallets and could easily fall prey to this scam.

Coinbase does not give you proper notice when they change your wallet address. Be very careful. when they do this, there is no warning. you could be in the middle of receiving bitcoins and when they change the address in the process, the sent coins can go to your old address after they give you a new address. the coins are lost forever when that happens.
They won't help you at all.

Wow! Thank you so much for getting this out there as fast as you did. We are still in the wild west, and I can't imagine how much money these kinds of things have made scammers over the past few months alone.
It's all good if the spam detectors are working as intended. Looks like they are. So many scammers in this space. They are all going to hell. The spam folder is just a pit stop before hell for all these jerks.
