Hacía muchos meses que no probaba una Soma. Como ya he explicado en otros artículos, aunque son unos grandes cerveceros y probablemente hagan las mejores NEIPA o Hazy IPA del país, me resultan un poco monótonos. Todas sus cervezas son muy parecidas. Incluso el estilo es siempre el mismo. Creo recordar haber probado dos cervezas negras y una Lager de SOMA, el resto todo IPA.
También, atraídos por la moda de los nuevos lúpulos neozelandeses, la mayoría de sus últimas cervezas son demasiado tropicales, olvidando el lado amargo del estilo.
Pero de vez en cuando sigo probando alguna, y hay que reconocer que bordan el estilo. Son muy parecidas unas a otras, sí. Pero están realmente deliciosas. Nadie consigue esa cremosidad y densidad en una IPA en España.
También hay que decir que últimamente estos chicos de Gerona han aumentado su producción y son muchas las latas nuevas que se ven cada mes. Eso sí, las etiquetas también son prácticamente iguales en todas las cervezas 😁.

Turbia y con espuma consistente. La menos tropical de las últimas que he probado. Muy cítrica en boca y aroma. Muy fresca y con esa densidad marca de la casa. Una vez más excelente elaboración.
It had been many months since I had tried a Soma. As I have already explained in other articles, although they are great brewers and probably make the best NEIPA or Hazy IPA in the country, I find them a bit monotonous. All their beers are very similar. Even the style is always the same. I think I remember trying two stouts and a Lager from SOMA, the rest all IPAs.
Also, attracted by the trend of new New Zealand hops, most of their latest beers are too tropical, forgetting the bitter side of the style.
But from time to time I still try some, and I must admit that they nail the style. They are very similar to each other, yes. But they are really delicious. Nobody gets that creaminess and density in an IPA in Spain.
It must also be said that lately these guys from Gerona have increased their production and there are many new cans that are seen every month. Of course, the labels are also practically the same in all beers 😁.

Cloudy and with consistent foam. The least tropical of the last ones I've tried. Very citrus in the mouth and aroma. Very fresh and with that signature density. Once again excellent preparation.
