It’s a decent sized week for comics and Marvel leads the charge with hot sellers such as Amazing Spider-Man (my jam), Ultimate Black Panther, and a new start to Ghost Rider…again.
In DC’s corner of the comic world, Action Comics, Green Lantern, and a few different Batman series are hitting as well.
Finally for the Independent section of this strange world, a new Ninja Turtles ish hits next to yet another Power Rangers book…yup…again. But mainly it’s a bunch of weird titles that don’t have large followings so you aren’t missing a bunch there. Oh, and the 2nd issue of Thunder…Thunder…Thundercats. You can scope em all out in the fancy slideshows below if you please.

With the funny books out of the way, we can now dive into the fun part. Toys! Toys! Toys! This week there’s a bunch of statues, some Reaction figgies, Anime pieces, Pops galore and a few other odds & ends. You are now obliged to stare at all of these delicious collectibles…
That’ll do pig…that’ll do…

It's been a while since I peeked at your blog buddy. Sorry about that. You sure do find some really interesting stuff and this sort of thing is one of the few aspects that I miss from not living in USA. We never have conventions for things like this in South East Asia and if you even do see something similar for sale it is almost certainly a cheap Chinese knock-off of the real thing. The funnier ones skirt the copyright laws by changing the name of the character to something like "Night Man" instead "Batman." I'll see if I can get some photos of this sort of gear because I think you would get a real laugh out of it.
Hey homie! Welcome back to my madness. Lol
I really appreciate you taking a look and as always, the support.
There was an article that I saved a while back that was fantastic. It was a dude who covered a bunch of the bootleg knockoff toys and it was hysterical. RobertCop instead of Robo…I’ll see if I can dig THAT up as it’ll you haven’t ever seen it, would totally be appreciated by you.
oh yeah. I love stuff like that man. Glad you are doing well and staying nerdy!
It’s in my blood. Lol
Are there any of the ranges that surprise you with their popularity? I've no idea what kids are into these days. My son was into Pokemon when he was younger. He may be more into Star Wars and Marvel stuff now. Rick and Morty seems to be huge.
While we have kids frequent the shop, it’s definitely nothing like it was when I was a kid. I just think the younger generation is less attached to physical stuff. They live their lives nearly entirely online.
That being said, manga is tremendously popular with the younger generation. While I’m not personally into it, that’s one big area that really surprised me with its ever growing fanbase. Especially as we see comic sales slid year after year.
I think Japanese stuff is generally popular with the younger generation. Just see how many anime shows are on Netflix. Kids are less into physical stuff though. Mine don't buy CDs and may read more eBooks than paper ones. Mind you, I've said before that my son (22) loves his Funko Pops and Lego.
There’s definitely always the exceptions, but yeah…generally speaking, we’ve noticed a steep decline in todays youth being involved with this stuff. Which is a tad worrisome for those looking ahead.
