Okay before I proceed I would to reintroduce myself once again for proper understanding. I hope it's okay and cool by everyone reading this.
My name is Segun Joshua, I'm from Lagos, Nigeria. I would like to discuss and talk about my local area, IKORODU LGA (east).
Now IKORODU is a rural area that is still under development as we speak.
And it's also a place where you can get landed property easily and with a cheaper rate.
But, getting land there wasn't easy few years back. Getting landed property at IKORODU comes with a great life risk and danger because a person's life is surely at stake, funny and weird right ? Yeah! . So it went like that for decades, killing and ending many lives just to get a landed property there yeah it's that bloody trust me. Similar incident almost happened to my folks and i, getting a land, building our house on it, securing and protecting it at all cost really costs us some huge amount of money because at every stage of the construction of the house we get to pay some huge amount of money for the development to the hoodlums around the area, but we were aware of the value it would emerge as in the future that we now lived in just like investing in cryptocurrency and leaving it to grow in the nearest future or for future purposes.
Now, the problem back then was some homeless thugs trying to steal from where they didn't sow.
There was war in our local area then, people were leaving their properties behind to run for their lives because of the danger around it and because of the fear unknown. It got to a stage we had to abandoned our land, our home and flee for our lives too back then, cause the bloodshed was getting out of hands even the government had to interfere but it was too late because at that time many lives were already gone.
My dad was just so concerned about our land because it gave him some hard time getting the land and the paperwork done and trying to make sure someone's else's land wasn't sold to him to avoid future problems.
It was that fierce and scary.
Another problem and issues we are facing is the federal roads, yeah. The roads are not good enough. Most times we don't pray for rainfall cause it usually causes lots of erosions and you obviously know what erosion does to ones roads.
Even cars and big vehicles drive extremely careful to avoid getting into potholes and gutters. And sometimes we even pray for rainfall cause of dust, yeah! Our environment can be really dusty to the extent you won't see people coming from behind or your front, it's that bad honestly you can see that the this world we live in is not balanced, So that's how we've been leaving and coping with this natural and environmental disasters. Like they all say we Nigerians can adapt to any conditions or any situation we find ourselves in, "laughs''. Sigh, I would it's somehow true because that's how we were brought up or nurtured that's if you grow up in the rural places "ghetto or streets" those are the names we gave it and it suits it as well.
Now the change I want is that the government should look into this matter seriously and see to it in everyway they can by doing these things;
Eradicating hoodlums associated themselves with landed property.
To make sure every landed property is registered in a recognized firm by the government.
Helping citizens secure their property in an appropriate way.
Restructure the roads with the help of the government.
Attend to every situations and problems with care and immediate solutions to it.
Lastly, creating jobs opportunities as many as needed because I believe if there's job opportunities all this things wouldn't be a problem even if it's it wouldn't be this huge. Cause job opportunities would decreases hoodlums problems and so many unwanted things in the community like that.
So this is exactly the change I want in my community and in my local area.
