Discource main screen

Discourse started as a discussion with my wife and business partner @kalynflanagin while discussing possible "quick" projects to build out various tools we need to streamline our processes. It also gave me a chance to create a 2D game in Godot which is something I don't really know that much about.

How to Play

General

The game mechanics are simple. The game selects a word from a dictionary, jumbles up the word and presents the letters around the circle. You rotate the circle until it displays the letter you want to select and then you press a button to lock in the letter. Once you have the word spelled out along the bottom you press and hold the same button to lock in the word.

Bonuses

Along with getting a set number of points based on the length of the word, if you spell the word mentioned in the hint you get a 2x multiplier for the word. You also receive a bonus for finishing the level ahead of your fellow players in VS mode.

Single Player

In single player mode you're racing the clock to secure the highest score possible at the end of the game.

Multiplayer

It's you against two other players racing each other to the top, but it's not that simple. Each time a player beats a level there is a chance that you will get synonymed which changes your puzzle to a new word and resets your progress. Of course this attack may not go as planned as now the players that have been attacked have the chance of pulling ahead in score.

Still to be done.

Beyond the non-critical bugs we're still playing around with the dictionary making sure that the words available aren't too obscure. We also have a lot of little tweaks to add to make sure people feel rewarded for their work.

Where can I play?!

This game is currently available internally as we're play-testing things before putting it out-there. That being said, we plan on releasing a Discourse-lite as a web app so stay tuned. For the full version we are working on several big announcements so follow me or @rhemagames to find out more!
