How was your weekend? Hope it was amazing. Today i am posting about the replacement of single cylinder double wheel water cooled diesel engine crankshaft.
We use this engine for granding of cassava, palm fruit and palm kernel.
During the process of granding palm kernel the crankshaft cut into two and that was so bad because automatically all work end there. This happend on Saturday and the was nothing anyone can do about it. Is attaully my Dad mile but most at times i do travel to village to help him out if i don't have work in my shop.
So we have to call the technician that will help use fixed the crankshaft, because if i try to change it my my self i will not be able to time the engine to start because is a very technical process that needs someone that's know how to do it.
The cost of the crankshaft is 80 dollars and i don't have we don't have such among so we have to make use of the old one we have in the house which is still working well, just that the engine block get broken so we just remove it and keep.
This really suffer me before i was able to remove the wheel since it has been keep for almost 3 years and every where was rust.
On Sunday, the technician i call came to help use fixed the crankshaft, he started by removing the wheel, loose the timing key and the connecting rode so that the old crankshaft can be removed.
After removing the old crankshaft, he then sand the one i bring for him to replace and also oil it so that everything can be fixed smoothly.
After everything, i then start fixing the crankshaft, and tight back the connecting rode.
When he was timing the engine i ask him to show me to do it, He refuse, telling me when i am ready i have to pay Him before he can show me, so i told him no problem. Although i look very well when he was doing it and one day i will give a try to it and i Know it will not fail me.
So he finally tight everything back has he looses it, starting from the wheel and every others.

I really thank God every thing was working perfectly now. Although i feel so sad when it happens because this is my first experience of crankshaft cutting, now the work continue.
