I switched over to my Sigma 150-600 mm telephoto lens and started capturing images.
There were a bunch of Hummingbirds in the garden today and I did my best to capture them for you o.o
With limited success I might add... An hour or so work, an aching arm from holding up 5 lbs. of lens and camera trying to get fast moving, never stopping targets... I got 6 usable images lol
I had to work for these so I hope you all enjoy them =P
It's also a little breezy today so everything is moving today so I'm running a high shutter speed to freeze everything as much as possible.

Believe it or not Hummingbirds are some feisty, poop talkin, little scrappers and most of these are more interested in fighting than feeding today.
Oh finally, one stops for more than .5 seconds
It was tough shoot as my auto focus was having fits trying to focus among the tree branches and such, moving ones at that, Keep focusing on little branches in front or behind the subject increasing my blurry bird collection.
I did get some nice images of the Robins and Sparrows hanging out all over the garden.
I'll be posting those images over the next couple days

You got some great shots! Maybe a tripod might help but it is hard to know where they will be. I also have used burst mode. It will grab a bunch of shots and you can choose the best to save. Branches and leaves are the bane of birding lol. If they are perched sometimes I go manual.
I was shooting in burst mode, just a busy area with fast moving targets. Plus The Canon T7 isn't the greatest, fastest auto focus in the line up.
If it were something like a feeder I would set up the tripod pre focused on the feeder at the angle I want and just blast away as I know exactly where they are going to be. I have the lens custom programed for faster focus but the T7 can't drive it like say the 7D MII I've been lusting after this last year can. =p
Yeah that is the problem for photographers, always better stuff to buy LOL... Does make it a fun and self enriching hobby I think. It surely is an art and always more to learn as well.
Those fuchsia are gorgeous and are the perfect background for those fiesty little birds. You may have worked hard to get these photos, but they are absolutely worth it!

Holding up that big lens for a long time takes it's toll.
I let those mussels get flabby this last year o.o lol
I've never used a big lens, but I can imagine how much it must weigh. I never thought about it, but photographers need to be in good shape. 💪
It doesn't start out weighing much but after a couple of hours....

Hummingbirds are always a challenge under the best of circumstances. I would have had a better run if I brought the tripod, arm fatigue was the most limiting factor today.

There are humming birds all over them.
I almost want to get a person in there to give the Fuchsias some more scale, they really are massive.
I can tell by the trees, but, yes! That would really give it credibility! I can tell how huge because of the number of stems! It is massive!!!
