Justine's 18th: A Celebration of Friendship and Love

in Family & Friends18 days ago

Hey Hivers, and welcome back to my blog! Whether you're a seasoned reader or a curious newcomer, I'm thrilled to have you here. For those of you who haven't met me yet, I'm @patrixx21, and this is where I share my thoughts, experiences, and adventures.

Before Justine's birthday, I asked her what we should do or what's the plan for her birthday celebration because the 18th birthday is important for girls and it will only happen once in her life, but then she just simply said that she doesn't really like celebrating it because she doesn't want her parents to borrow money just to prepare something for her birthday.

She also said, she wants to celebrate her birthday with us, her circle of friends even if there's no fancy food or decorations, she just want to be with us, in her big day and it melts my heart, but I disagree about not celebrating it, because for me, even in a simple way, I want to do something to make my friend happy and memorable it for her, in her birthday celebration.

Then I talked with Chuss Lee, one of our friends about it and she said "I won't agree either, we should celebrate even if it's simple, as long as we celebrate it together with her" that why as her decision-maker friends, we decided that each one of us bring something either it's foods or drinks, you decide, so that we can have a small feast.

We also planned on celebrating it at Inayagan Beach, because even if mostly of us didn't know how to swim we love the vibes and chilling at the beach, and it's like a girls bonding time since we decided it to be just all girls and that includes Chuss Lee, Memay, Maria, Marlyn, and the star of the day Justine. So, we are done planning about Justine's birthday celebration, but suddenly our Capstone/Research Project leader chat in our group chat, that we will continue conducting our research so that we can finished it on time.

Then, our world stopped. All our plans and excitement had put to waste. We talked to him and explained that we are having Justine's small celebration for her 18th birthday and we suggested to just move it the next day, but sadly he didn't agree. Then, our friends debated on who would chat and pursued him, on moving it. So, I take the courage to send him a long message about the planning and all, in making Justine's celebration. Then he replied sulking, your planning something by yourself but you didn't even include us.(Sorry Ed and to the boys😞)

That's why he suggested that instead of celebrating it in Inayagan Beach, why not celebrate it in Justine's house so that, we can also make our research project done, and with he's words like "we should be productive, you know" and so, we all agree to that!

Justine's Day
Before Justine's birthday, I already have my gift for her because I don't like last minute shopping, I already had a gift picked out for Justine. When I saw the dress, I knew it would be perfect for her, she'd look like an angel in it, and I was right!

Marlyn and I arrived at Justine's house at 10 a.m, and when we got there, Justine was shocked because she had just finished cleaning and hadn't taken a showered yet. She is also teared up, because she didn't expect to received a gifts just early in the morning. Moments later, our other friends arrived with their gifts, too.

Justine and her mother had to leaves us for awhile, because they will go to church to offer a prayer for her another year. While waiting for them to arrived, our other friends and Sir Mandal arrived with a coconut, announcing they'd make 'Lamaw,' a refreshing buko (coconut) juice perfect for the hot weather.

So while waiting for Justine and her mother, our friends is busy making the buko juice, Justine arrived and we all sang her a birthday song. In her way home, she brought a Chocks-to-Go chicken and a snacks for us all, and while waiting for the spaghetti her grandma was making, we ate the snack and do some chika.

The food is ready, so we already gathered in table to offer a thankful prayer for the food and to another year for Justine, after that we happily start eating because we were already hungry. We enjoyed eating while some of our friends cracking a jokes.

After eating Justine decided to open her gifts because she's so eager to know what's inside, each one of it. She's so happy while opening it and very thankful for what she have received.

To end the day we took many pictures for memories that we will forever treasure. I'm glad that she was happy on her birthday because as a friend of hers, all we ask nothing else but for her, to be happy on her day. Looking back on all the memories we've shared fills my heart with joy. I'm so proud of the person she'd become, and I can't wait to see what amazing things she will accomplishes in her next chapter.

With all of that, me and my friends go home with a happy heart and contentment.

Realization is birthday wasn't just about blowing out candles and eating cake. It was a celebration of the love that makes a family. It was a day that thicken the beautiful truth, the people we choose to love, the ones who hold a special place in our hearts, are the ones who truly make us feel whole. It's a reminder to cherish these bonds, to nurture them, and to celebrate them with the kind of joy that filled the room on that special day.

At least the sweet and happy celebration happened in the end. Justine is so lucky to have friends like all of you. You'll only celebrate your 18th birthday once so having this simple celebration is not bad. Belated Happy Birthday Justine!

You're right, @ruffatotmeee, turning 18 is a big deal. That's why, even if it's just a simple celebration, you should celebrate it with the people you love because the happiness and togetherness is what makes it perfect.

I admired the bond between you and your friends Ma'am @patrixx21 You treat each other like family. Anyway, happy birthday to your dearest friend.

A very comforting way of celebrating birthdays, especially when it's with the real circle of friends. I'm glad that the 18th birthday was made fun by everyone, especially made it productive also.💗
