The greatest challenge confronting DAOs in general, is how to establish a fair and equitable System of Governance. Optimally you want full Participation, robust and anonymous Deliberation, and anonymous Voting. But the bottom line is that you want to GET THINGS DONE!
You have been looking for The Matrix-8 Solution (M8S)
The M8S delivers it all on an open-source platform for multiple purposes. Depending on any particular Cause Group's needs: the amount of security needed, whether a majority or super majority is required, the degree to which a decision can be overturned by Whales, or a myriad of other specific requirements that might present themselves – the basic platform remains the same. All these additional elements can be introduced by the specific Cause Group in the initial structure of its rules. And rules can be amended later if desired.

Historically, Representative Democracy has worked the best so far
The Democratic Process has always been Mankind’s default method to reach consensus. We started with 190,000 years sitting around the council fire as Hunter-gatherers. That still works fine for small groups. But then for the last 10,000 years, logistics changed. In the cities, there were too many people for a council fire. We gave up the Bottom-up council-fire process, and adopted the Top-down Social Contract dynamics. And since then, the best we have been able to do within that framework is Representative Democracy. And it was great for a while, but it don’t work no more! Our Representatives have become an interlocking Globalist Caste of the Elite. They have their own agendas. Notice how our current Rulers are chatting blithely about the likelihood of turning Europe into a nuclear battlefield. They care nothing for us! (They never have....)
With the Matrix-8 Solution (M8S), we can return to the Hunter-gatherer atmosphere where decisions are made by small groups in which everyone has a chance to talk. We can potentially dispense with Leaders/Rulers entirely. M8S provides open Participation, anonymous Deliberation, and anonymous Voting. And apart from evolving governance, it provides a Platform for the next generation of Crowdfunding. Business Plans on any project can be deliberated, agreed upon, and funded by the Participants themselves.
Chatrooms produce Chatter – the M8S produces Action!
Take a look at this Chatroom. (Note, this post was published first in the Pursuit of Privacy Telegram group). It's well shy of Dunbar’s Number – but, right now you’ve got too many Participants chattering to efficiently get anything done. And it's not just Crypto developers, but every activist/organizer on the planet is screaming, “The sky is falling! We’ve got to get together!!!”
And just how do they propose getting together? For many, it’s some sort of organic communal chant to Gaia to raise our vibrational level. Many others – even those who should know better – suggest millions of Protesters pouring into the streets worldwide – getting photographed, maced, and arrested. Works every time!
The M8S DIY Challenge
#M8S has a broader application than Crypto Governance. But it is you folks who should be able to envision how it will work. And it is perfect for your purposes. But, you have got to DO something about it!
