Things I do to avoid overthinking.

Being an overthinker type of person is good and at the same time, dangerous. You can think of anything else outside the box especially if you felt like you require further information which is based on what the situation is about. It can also ruin relationships or friendships especially if not controlled properly.

For today's topic, I wanted to share to everyone on how I usually fight off overthinking to avoid worsening each situation. I do admit that I'm one of those overthinking type of person but having some techniques would definitely help. We're all aware on how overthinking works. Take for example a day where you enjoyed a lot with your group of friends then suddenly thinking way ahead of what you've heard and saw from that very moment. It's really destructive and frustrating to think that in just a simple snap of your fingers, you can destroy your entire mood. We can't deny as well that there are really some instances in a life of an overthinker that they tend to think way beyond on what they've seen or heard from a conversation or conclusion. From here, I'll share to you guys my ways on how do I avoid overthinking especially if I'm being attacked by it.


Listening to music

As a person who loves to listen to music since it was a part of my dancing and singing career, music had been my great savior and a benefit especially if overthinking is attacking me. By the time I put my pair of earbuds on to my ears, I can forget those negative things strolling around my head. It makes me think of a new choreography instead for my next dance video or a singing performance for any upcoming competitions. Through that, I can escape the reality of having to think of nonsense and redirect my thoughts on to something much more helpful especially to both my talents and career. My common genre are Pop Music, Love songs, or even Rock. It awakens my inner energy to be happy and productive from that point.

Sleeping

Weird to think that sleeping had been one of my escapes in overthinking. We can conclude that there may be times that we overthink because we're just tired or stressed out. May it be because of all the academics or work that I encounter each and everyday that drains my battery. So I guess a proper sleep will help me recharge my batteries and continue to work on with what needs to be done from that very moment. Allowing myself to rest and trying all my best to not think of anything negative definitely helps my brain or inner thoughts to not ruin the mood I worked hard to maintain in a good state.

Playing Online Games

It's not that I only spend my time in sleeping nor' listening to music. I also make time in playing these two games that I love. Being an online gamer for almost 5 years is a good thing for me. It helped me relieve the stress I got from the entire days of work and studies. In relation to overthinking, it helps me to escape from it and redirect my attention into something else that is more interesting and can give me a lot of enjoyment before I call it a day. For others let's say being an online gamer is an addiction but on to my own opinion, it's an escape and an entertainment to avoid the harsh and hurtful reality of life at a times.

Watching Movies

As someone who loves to direct roleplays in every performance tasks, I'm used to watch movies of any genre for me to redirect my attention into something else. Aside from watching the content of the movies I watch, I usually critic the ways on how the film was created, on how the scene was organized and on how it was edited and finalized. This also helps me in relieving the negative thoughts coming inside of my head and avoiding the worst type of scenario that I can think of that might hurt my feelings.

These are some things I usually do to avoid myself from overthinking. I still have a lot to share but these are just some few that anyone here can do and share to everyone. This blog is also intended to help anyone who's really having a hard time to deal with overthinking. I know so far how overthinking works and it's really frustrating. If it works on you, then that's good! When I overthink, I couldn't be at ease if I can't resolve the issues I'm thinking. It's hard to contain those in a bottle when you're in a group, so you can't ruin the mood. I'm just silently pondering on those instead of speaking it out. But sometimes dophamine boosters can also help elevate your mood, and it can greatly affect your way of thinking too.
