Topper, Chiro, PDC, Weather, Turkey Pen, Flower Hike, Feathers, Rain - Thursday

in Homesteading26 days ago

Yesterday @stryeyz worked from home and took the boys to school. I had my chiro appointment to go to mid morning but first I needed to get the topper taken off my truck. Thankfully it is just 6 bolts and it slides right off.

It was my re-exam day and I am far better than I was at the beginning but I have found a persistent problem that I am going to have to get checked out separately. They do have a new toy/tool that is the nerve heat map gun. It shoots lasers at the spine as it is rolled up the back and it can tell the electrical signals in the nerves in my spine and can tell the efficiency of my nerves. I will see the results in a couple weeks.

I was home in time to see the entire PDC which Luke Littler won pretty handily. It puts him well atop the table and it was wonderful to see MVG lose on his birthday. Let his reign end.

The clouds were moving in all day and threatened rain but didn't start to let loose until the evening.

The turkeys are getting big fast so I added a section of fence around their hut to give them a lot more space to roam which they for sure enjoy. Probably a few more weeks and they will get to go in the main coop if they are big enough.

After picking the boys up from school and watching the end of the PDC I was wandering the gardens when I decided to go up on top. When I was driving to my appointment I noticed the side of h\the highway was coated in white flowers which I was wanting to know what kind. We also had a line of the storm and rain heading our way which this was the front of it.

Purple shooting stars litter the area outside the fence atop the hill.

The corn flowers are popping open in bunches.

Then all those white flowers are the wild phlox that we have littering the region.

IMG_20240425_154250.jpg

This was the only purple phlox I saw amongst them.

IMG_20240425_154317.jpg

Otherwise it was large masses of white phlox, bigger in the direct sun spots.

Then I noticed the WHITE shooting stars. I know the purple are super common but not so much the white. I have them mixed in an about 10 foot diameter area.

They are all outside the fence which has saved them from the sheep.

Also bluebells are growing in the shade at the corner of the fence.

I then hopped the sheep pen fence and wandered beneath the eagle's nest tree kicking around debris. I found these really bright feathers which I can only assume are pheasant feathers, it's the brightest bird we have around here that I know of. Just this tiny clutch of feathers.

The rain wasn't hard and only amounted to .05". Likely we will get spit on off an on for the next few days. It may clear up enough for flying this weekend, we will see.

Got out to soak a bit earlier than normal and managed over an hour but my skin was still not right.

PDC Euro tour is on today, I will get boys to school then they have the spring concert mid day and we will bring them home after, I have the co-op order to pickup, deal with my worsening skin, try to schedule a doctor appointment, and then this evening fire in pit and grilling for dinner.

Wow, LEO is borked today.

The flowers are really beautiful
I love the view

Is it the Dart game where Filipino won the game? @flemingfarm

That was a different tournament. This is the premiere league darts.

Did you watch that tournament too? @flemingfarm

We were on a trip so didn't get to watch.

Yeah, I'm not into dart games also but since our kababayan won the game, my husband wondered how the points of the game accumulated. @flemingfarm maybe one of your blogs will be all about darts. I'm looking forward to it. 😊

It's actually very simple. Both players start with a score of 501 and they are trying to be the first to zero, which is a leg. Each match has the leg limit like the matches yesterday were first to 6 legs. They play in brackets and work their way towards the final round. The best leg is won with 9 darts scores of 180, 180, 141.

Thank you for this. As you explained, mathematics was involved. It's a nice game, you enjoyed it and you learned. @flemingfarm

Here in our city, the weather was exactly the same and it rained a lot recently.

Loved seeing all the flowers. We don’t have shooting stars here, so those were pretty cool!
