I mean I like that they can't "take it" but there are some downsides to blockchain social networks considering the implications of an emerging cancel-culture.

Luckily our social network is governed by the community, I dont see the cancel-culture coming here, unless people start being douchebags (both directions).

I just think that even if it's not within the ecosystem, there's a whole lot of outside of it. Blockchain is forever. Hopefully they don't look for every shitty opinion I've ever had (and since grown from).

Yeah, so, what you are saying basically is that everything is registered and eternal on the blockchain, which also means the people who 'started' to "cancel" someone. The fun fact is, you cant cancel someone on an immutable blockchain.

Within the blockchain, no. Well kinda, if you count downvotes. But you surely are free to treat them however you'd like outside the confines of the blockchain. Surely, the world exists that way as of right now.

Bruh, there is no way you can get cancelled on Hive. You can get downvoted to oblivion and get highly demotivated. But that demotivation is based on the monetary perspective of Hive, not the technological aspect. All content will be there either way. You can build your own website, extract and render that data on your own website/platform.

Sure, I get that. On a traditional condenser though, you have to click to view the information through the frontend. I get that the data itself exists. If a post is on the blockchain and no one is there to read it, does it make a sound?
