Preparation fore runs being ready. Qc prompt #85.

in QC Community17 days ago

Often, I have heard so many persons use this phrase "I was born ready" or this next phrase "I got this". To me, I feel that these sayings are just to condition the mind and make it believe what we want it to. These phrases aren't wrong in themselves but they are dependant on the preparedness of the one speaking.

Do you believe that things come into our lives when we are ready for them or do we adapt to what life throws at us?

Both questions above have no polar answers. I believe that so many factors come into play that places one at the end of each pedestal. I do believe that things come into our lives when we are ready for them, depending on how prepared we are to show matter of factly that we are ready.

A sprinter prepares day and night on a track just trying to prepare for the Olympics or whatever competition there is. Such a runner does not get overwhelmed when he or she wins because they prepared for it well in advance. Same goes for a student who needs to pass an examination. If such a student is not prepared, there is no way they can be ready to hit the mark of success.

It is considered an aberration for a dad to buy a car for his two year old son and then hands him the car keys saying "Son, now you can drive yourself to school". At that age, the boy is not ready to handle the technicalities of a car rather he should be learning how to ride a bicycle with training wheels on! Handing the car keys to a boy of such a young age is expressly setting him up for an accident and this is all because he is not ready yet.

Adaptation is one of the characteristics of every living thing and this is solely for survival. When one is not prepared or is not yet ready for something, that individual learns to adapt to the current situations of life per time.

Despite our beautiful and lofty dreams about what we want to achieve and the plans put in place to ace them, life shows up and tosses away every little plan of ours. So what do we do then?:* Do we sit and mourn over the haopenings of life...? No! I usually say;

"When life thows you a lemon, you make a lemonade out of it".

Do you think we can be completely ready and prepared for something or is that impossible?

In as much as life remains a constant, I dare say that no one can be completely prepared for anything 100% and this is because all tgings are not equal. We do not live in a fairy tale land where the ill treated pretty girl always meets a prince, gets married and lives happily ever after, no, we live in a world where life has the power to throw us off our horses even when we claim to be "holding the reins" tightly.

Those going through a divorce might have prepared themselves mentally and emotionally but nothing prepares them for the searing feeling that washes over them once the judge declares them divorced.

Same goes for lovebirds who want to get married. Despite the amount of rehearsals and prep talks geared at preparing them for the d-day, the bride still feels butterflies in her tummy while the groom seems to catch cold feet.

It is not seemingly impossible to be totally ready, (impossible is a string word) but I'm of the belief that a person can be prepared as much as they can but eventually they'll have to do life and put themselves out there to get their desired outcome. The outcome would then show their level of preparation.

In a nut shell, preparation breeds readiness for whatever we want, anything else is done on impulse and the results might not be pleasant. Then again, when we have done our best in being ready and yet do not have what we desire, then adaptation is the next sure thing.

Thank you for reading... shalom.

Sometimes we prepare for everything but even our preparation might not be enough for the aftermath of our action. The best we can do is adapt to the situation.
As human, it is normal we prepare for what’s to come and make assumptions but life throws at us the unexpected
We would survive sha

Of course we would always survive, thank you bro😊

You’re welcome

This is well written. No matter how prepared we think we are, life happens and changes everything. All we need do is adjust to that moment and prepare for the next phase.

That's very correct sis, thank you for sharing your thoughts

There was a phrase one of the teachers in my school taught the students on the assembly ground, "proper preparation prevents poor performance" in other words, if you aren't prepared, you cannot achieve anything good. Same with life, our preparation is as a result of the good outcome we achieve, we must be ready for whatever life throws at us.

That's a nice quote from your wise teacher. Without preparation, one is heading for destruction.

Thanks sis🌺

Life can throw us at a different place we didn't expect to see ourselves at, but we must understand we can get up again and continue facing reality and becoming the best of ourselves.

Yes, that's the spirit.

Thanks for your insightful comment 🤗

You are welcome

These 2 parts are perfect. You are totally right, is like we need to prepare ourselves as much as we can to be ready to catch the opportunity when it comes by.

Some people may encounter the opportunity, not recognize it and let it pass, others recognize it but are not prepared and fail. Others recognize it, are not prepared, but adapt quickly and get something good out of it, and the last are the ones who were prepared and they catch the opportunity and make the most of it.

Exactly, fam💙

Thanks
