The other week, my mom got a lot of Durian from her friend. I personally am not fond of eating a whole durian and that’s why I tried integrating it with other ingredients to make something more edible. I browsed recipes out there and eventually found some Ogura cake but with durian. Ogura has a fluffy soft texture that I never thought would go well with Durian but after trying it, the cake turned out soft and fluffy and is really good. You don’t really have to top it with cheese but you can do that like I do. I reckon you can add any topping you like as well. This was a bit of a rush as I was also trying to visit my niece and nephew and wanted to bring them something that I made on my own.
By the way, the channel that I am referring to make the cake is called Apron. It’s a good channel and their measurement is quite exact. Although again, you can make a few adjustment to their recipe including ingredients and also the quantity. I am not a big fan of eating the whole fresh durian. I remember my first time I was so excited and bought 3kg fresh durian. My first bite I know it is not for me so left the whole thing for the owner of a hostel I stayed. Until now still not a fan of fresh durian. But your cakes looks yummy. Thanks for sharing with us.
@dora381 You should try to make it an ice cream or cakes like mine maybe you'd like it more. It doesn't take a long time as I was also baking this before visiting my nephew and niece :D. 3KG durian is a bit too much haha :D was it in SEA when you first tried it?
Yes, it was like 7 years ago I think. When I visited Danang and I know that's a good place to try Durian haha. Ice cream may be a good idea. I will see if I can find a good recipe to make next time when I see durian :)
I tried eating fresh durian only once! Yes, it was delicious just the smell was not good.
Also , I know there are candies but only now I heard about making a cake! 🍰

@lhes honestly, I haven't seen candided durian in a while but maybe if you don't like the smell of it, you can make cakes like I did.
I know I can eat this a lot even though durian has an odd smell.
