Good morning and happy holidays everyone!
In today’s story I bring you with me to discover ancient art in Northern Italy and, in particular, some interesting works belonging to the centuries from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century.
The museum that I was lucky enough to visit is called the “Amedeo Lia” Civic Museum and is located in the city of La Spezia (Liguria). It houses the works of the collector Amedeo Lia, a noble art enthusiast well known locally.
The exhibition itinerary is divided into 14 rooms where it is possible to find paintings belonging to artists of the caliber of Caravaggio, Raffaello and Tiziano. The complete visit took about 2 hours because it is a museum rich in history where, at every corner, you can observe incredible works.
I was particularly struck by the miniatures, that is, the works of art drawn in small proportions on parchments to decorate some letters of ancient books called codices.
I also invite you to observe the beauty of the frames, finely carved and rich in details.
The Civic Museum of La Spezia is certainly not among the best known in Italy, yet it houses some noteworthy works inside. I would recommend a visit to anyone who is in the area! I leave you with some photos taken during my walk immersed in art.

In questo racconto vi porto con me a scoprire l’arte antica nel Nord Italia e, in particolare, alcune interessanti opere appartenenti ai secoli dal Cinquecento al Settecento.
Il museo che ho avuto la fortuna di visitare si chiama Museo Civico “Amedeo Lia” e si trova nella città di La Spezia (Liguria). Ospita le opere del collezionista Amedeo Lia, un nobile appassionato di arte ben conosciuto a livello locale.
Il percorso espositivo si divide in 14 sale dove è possibile trovare dipinti appartenenti ad artisti del calibro di Caravaggio, Raffaello e Tiziano. La visita completa ha richiesto circa 2 ore perché è un museo ricco di storia dove, ad ogni angolo, si possono osservare opere incredibili.
Mi hanno colpito in modo particolare le miniature, ovvero le opere d’arte disegnate in piccole proporzioni sulle pergamene per decorare alcune lettere di antichi libri chiamati codici.
Vi invito anche a osservare la bellezza delle cornici, finemente intagliate e ricche di particolari.
Il museo Civico di La Spezia non è sicuramente tra i più conosciuti d’Italia, eppure conserva al suo interno delle opere degne di nota. Mi sento di consigliare la visita a chiunque si trovi in zona! Vi lascio con alcune foto scattate durante la mia passeggiata immersa nell’arte.
