When it comes to participating in special events that include trips to somewhere cool, I don't even hesitate to attend. That led me to field trips when I was in college, trips to crypto events, and also massive parties. The last big event I went to was the Women's Meeting, organized in the province of San Luis, Argentina, organized in October of last year. The one that is going to be organized this year is not long now, and I hope to be able to attend again: I liked the dynamics of the trip and everything we did, they were great days where I learned a lot ❤️.
Cuando se trata de participar de eventos especiales que incluyen viajes a algún lugar genial, ni siquiera dudo en asistir. Eso me llevó a viajes de estudio cuando iba a la universidad, paseos para asistir a eventos sobre criptografías y también a convocatorias masivas de personas. El último evento grande al que fuí se trató del Encuentro de Mujeres, organizado en la provincia de San Luis, Argentina, organizado en Octubre del año pasado. Ya falta poco para el que se va a organizar este año, y espero poder asistir nuevamente: me gustó la dinámica del viaje y todo lo que hicimos, fueron unos días geniales en donde aprendí un montón ❤️.
The idea of going to this event came almost at the last moment when my friend invited me to go. As it is an event with a large number of people, many social organizations prepare everything so that the largest number of people can attend. They are in charge of getting the transfer in contracted buses, whose expense is then divided among all the travelers. She was going to attend with her friends and a large group from her university, so she got a place for me too. The city of San Luis is about 800 km from our house, so we had a trip of a little less than 12 hours 😃.
La idea de ir hasta este evento surgió casi a último momento cuando mi amiga me invitó a ir. Como es un evento con gran convocatoria, muchas organizaciones sociales preparan todo para que pueda asistir la mayor cantidad de personas. Ellos se encargan de conseguir el traslado en micros contratados, cuyo gasto luego se divide entre todos los viajeros. Ella iba a asistir con sus amigos y con un grupo grande de su universidad, así que también consiguió un lugar para mí. La ciudad de San Luis queda a unos 800 km de nuestra casa, así que tuvimos un viaje de un poco menos de 12 horas 😃.
With regard to accommodation, the destination city of the meeting makes itself available to the event and opens the doors of the schools so that people can stay there. This meeting lasts three days of a long weekend, so of course the children do not attend classes. This was pretty well organized: the school I was in had a multipurpose room and we put our sleeping bags there, but there were also people who slept in the classrooms and offices. If you're wondering how we did hygiene, well, luckily this school had locker rooms with showers. Of course there is also the option of going privately and renting better accommodation, but this is the cheapest way to attend the event 😅.
Con respecto al alojamiento, la ciudad destinataria del encuentro se pone a disposición del evento y abre las puertas de las escuelas para que las personas puedan quedarse ahí. Esta reunión dura tres días de un fin de semana largo, por lo que por supuesto los niños no asisten a clases. Esto estuvo bastante bien organizado: la escuela en la que estuve yo tenía un salón multiusos y ahí armamos nuestras bolsas de dormir, pero también habían personas que dormían en los salones y oficinas. Si se preguntan sobre cómo hacíamos con la higiene, bueno, por suerte esta escuela contaba con vestuarios con duchas. Por supuesto también está la opción de ir de forma particular y alquilar un alojamiento mejor, pero esta es la forma más económica de asistir al evento 😅.
This event has been held in Argentina for more than 30 years and was only interrupted by the pandemic: once a year a venue is chosen somewhere in the country and the great meeting takes place there. Originally it was only for women, but over the years, other gender identities such as trans, transvestites, intersex or non-binary people were also included. This meeting was also called "National" of Argentina, but now the arrival of people from other countries is also accepted. Finally, the name changed from being "National Meeting of Women" to "Plurinational Meeting of Women, Lesbians, Trans, Transvestites, Bisexuals, Intersexuals and Non-Binaries". Maybe a little long but the idea is that no one is left out, I suppose 😅.
Este evento se realiza en Argentina hace más de 30 años y solo fue interrumpido en la pandemia: una vez por año se elige una sede en algún punto de país y allí se lleva a cabo el gran encuentro. Originalmente era solo de mujeres, pero con el pasar de los años, también se incluyeron otras identidades de género como personas trans, travestis, intersexuales o no binarias. Este encuentro también se hacía llamar "Nacional" de Argentina, pero ahora también se acepta la llegada de personas de otros países. Finalmente, el nombre pasó de ser "Encuentro Nacional de Mujeres" a "Encuentro Plurinacional de Mujeres, Lesbianas, Trans, Travestis, Bisexuales, Intersexuales y No Binaries". Quizás un poco largo pero la idea es que nadie quedara afuera, supongo 😅.
During these days, a variety of workshops and talks are held with different themes in which women are involved in their day-to-day lives. All these talks are also held in schools in the area, and it is enough to choose one from the list to be able to go. There are debates that are already a classic of the meeting, such as the right to abortion or the differences in the workplace, which is why I chose to go to others in which they talked about mental health and addictions and problematic drug use. There were really more than 100 workshops to choose from in which you could listen and/or participate: I would have liked to go to more but we didn't have that many days either 😅.
Durante estos días se realizan variedad de talleres y charlas con diferentes temáticas en las que estan involucradas las mujeres en su día a día. Todas estas charlas también se realizan en las escuelas de la zona, y solo basta con elegir alguna del listado para poder ir. Hay debates que ya son un clásico del encuentro, como la del derecho al aborto o la de diferencias en el ambito laboral, por lo que lo elegí ir a otras en las que hablaban de salud mental y adicciones y consumo problemático de drogas. Realmente habían más de 100 talleres para elegir en los que se podía escuchar y/o participar: me hubiese gustado ir a más pero tampoco teníamos tantos días 😅.
For me the most beautiful part of the meeting is this, the workshops and debates. In these spaces, people find support by telling their experiences in the chosen topic and a nice support group is set up. After this, there are also marches in the squares, with music and festivities, but there is never a lack of those who end up destroying private property and unfortunately that is the only thing that makes the news. The women's meeting is quite demonized and many people see the fact of attending as bad, but I like it because I keep the good things that happen and what I learn thanks to other people ⭐️.
Para mí la parte más linda del encuentro es esta, la de los talleres y debates. En estos espacios, las personas encuentran contención contando sus experiencias en el tema elegido y se arma un lindo grupo de apoyo. Luego de esto, también se hacen marchas en las plazas, con música y festejos, pero nunca faltan aquellos que terminan por hacer destrozos en la propiedad privada y lamentablemente eso es lo único que trasciende en las noticias. El encuentro de mujeres está bastante demonizado y mucha gente ve malo el hecho de asistir, pero a mí me gusta porque me quedo con las cosas buenas que pasan y con lo que aprendo gracias a otras personas ⭐️.
Having attended last year's women's meeting was a great decision and I would love to go to this year's, to be held in the city of Bariloche. Beyond the fact that it is a good opportunity to take a tour at a good price and to a beautiful place, I like spending time with all these people who fight and defend their ideas. On this walk I met many nice people that I still keep in touch with today, so it also helped me to make new friends. I hope this year is repeated and is even better than the previous one 😃.
Haber asistido al encuentro de mujeres del año pasado fue una gran decisión y me encantaría ir al de este año, a realizarse en la ciudad de Bariloche. Más allá de que es una buena oportunidad de hacer un paseo a un buen precio y a un lugar hermoso, me gusta pasar tiempo con toda esta gente que lucha y defiende sus ideas. En este paseo conocí a muchas personas agradables que hasta hoy sigo en contacto, así que también me sirvió para hacer nuevos amigos. Espero que este año se repita y sea aún mejor que el anterior 😃.
