Today's appointment is truly special because I take you with me to discover a simply breathtaking garden. I can say that I have visited several gardens in Italy, but this was by far my favorite.
In particular, I’m talking to you about the gardens of Villa della Pergola, in the province of Savona (Liguria), winners in 2022 of the "The most beautiful park in Italy" competition. I visited this beautiful park during the month of August, I took several photos and, in fact, I thought about dividing the experience into several posts to make it less boring while reading.
Unfortunately, at the beginning of my visit, the weather was not the best as it was raining. I must say, however, this did not stop me from appreciating nature in all its beauty and, indeed, it gave me the inspiration for some interesting scenography. During the walk, which lasted more than an hour, fortunately the sun came out.
The Gardens of Villa della Pergola were designed at the end of the nineteenth century and what is immediately striking is their position: they are, in fact, located on the hilly part of the city of Alassio and from this height you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Mediterranean sea.
The Mediterranean scrub is the true protagonist of this park: you can observe a great variety of plant species such as citrus fruits, cacti, olive trees, ... There are also numerous exotic species, and even some rare species of which there are some throughout the world only 100 of them!

L’appuntamento di oggi è davvero speciale perché vi porto con me alla scoperta di un giardino semplicemente mozzafiato. Posso dire di aver visitato diversi giardini in Italia, ma questo è stato di gran lunga il mio preferito.
In particolare, vi sto parlando dei giardini di Villa della Pergola, in provincia di Savona (Liguria), vincitori nel 2022 del concorso “Il Parco più bello d’Italia”. Ho visitato questo bellissimo parco durante il mese di agosto, ho scattato diverse foto e, infatti, ho pensato di dividere l’esperienza in più post per annoiare meno durante la lettura.
Purtroppo, all’inizio della mia visita, il tempo non era dei migliori perché stava piovendo. Devo dire che, però, questo non mi ha impedito di apprezzare la natura in tutta la sua bellezza e, anzi, mi ha dato lo spunto per alcune scenografie interessanti. Nel corso della passeggiata, durata più di un’ora, è fortunatamente uscito il sole.
I Giardini di Villa della Pergola sono stati progettati a fine Ottocento e ciò che colpisce subito è la loro posizione: si trovano, infatti, sulla parte collinare della città di Alassio e da questa altezza si può godere di una fantastica vista sul mare del Mediterraneo.
La macchia mediterranea è la vera protagonista di questo parco: si può osservare una grande varietà di specie vegetali quali agrumi, cactacee, ulivi, … Sono presenti anche numerose specie esotiche, e persino alcune specie rare di cui, in tutto il mondo, ne esistono solo 100 esemplari!
