My day was so full today that I didn't have anything planned for my daily post on Hive.
When I got home and was getting ready to go training... I ended up not doing it... And the reasons weren't bad at all, or a bunch of lame excuses.... Well, in the end they weren't! Ahahah
The sunlight of a pleasant mid-May afternoon came through the kitchen window, which deserved to be tidied up, but wasn't going to be (at least not today). And the dance of the light revealed a peculiarity of one of the plants I have in two pots on the worktop near the window... A delightful detail... the trichomes that cover its rounded, fleshy leaves, as well as the stems that support them. They have a deep green, almost black color, which contrasts with the violet tone of the underside of the leaf. Truth be told, this plant, commonly known as African Violet, or simply Violet, has a special charm when it is covered in clusters of delicate light lilac flowers, with their yellowish stamens.
I immediately tried to take pictures with my cell phone, and inspired by our friend Aleister's photos, I went and got a lens that I once received in a marketing campaign for a deworming product, if I'm not mistaken, one of those lenses that juxtaposed with the lens of the cell phone, which I held with plastic tweezers. In this case, I mounted it on a small piece of thick paper with a small round notch that served as a support. The difficulty is to “find” the center of the “plastic lens”, because if it isn't correctly aligned with the center of the phone's lens, the focus isn't as perfect. Of course, the end result is nothing like what Aleister shows us in his publications... Obviously!
Needless to say, this type of photography gives me great pleasure, and time passes without us realizing it... Just like when I was using the optical microscope in biology class to see the layers of an onion, or the wings of an insect... It's such an immersive environment, and the detail of each detail, such as the trichomes, makes it even more wonderful...
The repetition of perfection taken to its most extreme... to the tiniest dimension. And we human beings sometimes think that only the dimension in which we move is the one that “exists”!
How many of you also end up completely immersed in a dimension that seems otherworldly?
Hoje o meu dia foi tão preenchido que não tinha nada planeado para o meu post diário no Hive.
Quando cheguei a casa e estava a preparar-me para ir treinar... Acabei por não o fazer... E as razões não eram más de todo, nem um monte de desculpas esfarrapadas.... Bem, no final não eram! Ahahah
A luz do sol de uma agradável tarde de meados de maio entrava pela janela da cozinha, que merecia ser arrumada, mas não o ia ser (pelo menos hoje). E a dança da luz revelou uma particularidade de uma das plantas que tenho em dois vasos na bancada junto à janela... Um pormenor delicioso... os tricomas que cobrem as suas folhas arredondadas e carnudas, bem como os caules que as suportam. São de um verde profundo, quase preto, que contrasta com o tom violeta da face inferior da folha. Na verdade, esta planta, vulgarmente conhecida como Violeta Africana, ou simplesmente Violeta, tem um encanto especial quando está coberta por cachos de delicadas flores lilases claras, com os seus estames amarelados.
Tentei logo tirar fotografias com o telemóvel e, inspirado pelas fotos do nosso amigo Aleister, fui buscar uma lente que uma vez recebi numa campanha de marketing de um produto desparasitante, se não me engano, uma daquelas lentes que se justapunham à lente do telemóvel, que segurei com uma pinça de plástico. Neste caso, montei-o num pequeno pedaço de papel grosso com um pequeno entalhe redondo que serviu de suporte. A dificuldade é “encontrar” o centro da “lente de plástico”, porque se não estiver corretamente alinhada com o centro da lente do telemóvel, a focagem não é tão perfeita. Claro que o resultado final não é nada parecido com o que o Aleister nos mostra nas suas publicações... Obviamente!
Escusado será dizer que este tipo de fotografia me dá muito prazer, e o tempo passa sem darmos por isso... Tal como quando usava o microscópio ótico na aula de biologia para ver as camadas de uma cebola, ou as asas de um inseto... É um ambiente tão envolvente, e o pormenor de cada detalhe, como os tricomas, torna-o ainda mais maravilhoso...
A repetição da perfeição levada ao seu extremo... à mais ínfima dimensão. E nós, seres humanos, pensamos por vezes que só a dimensão em que nos movemos é a que “existe”!
Quantos de vós também acabam por ficar completamente imersos numa dimensão que parece de outro mundo?
