Greetings, my dear friends of this beautiful and creative community of needles, I hope you are well, healthy and well being. May this be a weekend of rest and family sharing.
Thinking about gifts for Mother's Day that I would like to give to some moms I know here, I thought of knitting new covers for mugs because it is a handmade detail with love and I think it has a value beyond the utilitarian.
So, I've been knitting these mug covers, following the same pattern I used in the ones I knitted a few months ago, but with new color combinations and I shared them in this publication where you can see it in detail.

Pensando en regalitos para el día de las madres que me gustaría obsequiar a algunas mamás que conozco aquí, pensé en tejer nuevas fundas para tazas porque es un detalle hecho a mano con mucho amor y me parece que tiene un valor más allá de lo utilitario.
Así, estuve tejiendo estas fundas para tazas, siguiendo el mismo patrón que usé en las que tejí hace unos meses, pero con nuevas combinaciones de colores y les compartí en esta publicación donde lo pueden ver detalladamente.

For the first one I knitted, I chose beige and green colors, thinking of a person who I know will like this combination a lot. Then, I continued with the color combination. I didn't plan this combination, because I let myself get carried away by creativity and chose fuchsia to start the knitting, followed by yellow to give light to the knitting and then I knitted another series of stitches with blue.
I loved the resulting combination and repeated this sequence until I reached the top edge. This time, I used a different zipper for one of the covers. The green and beige one I finished with the chain stitches on each side as rings that intertwine on the handle of the cup and the colored one I finished with a button to close it. I really liked doing it this way and I'm thinking of knitting some unicolored ones and buying a nice, patterned button to be a decorative detail on the cover.
When I showed my daughter these covers, she fell in love with the colorful one and asked me to give it to her, so that one is for her. I will give it to her with all my love for making me a happy, lucky and proud mom.
I'm still knitting covers for gifts, but I couldn't resist to show you today the ones I have already made. I am very happy to be able to make these details and give them to people who are very special to me.

Para la primera que tejí escogí colores beige y verde, pensando en una persona a la que sé que le va a gustar mucho esta combinación. Luego, seguí con la de colores. No planifiqué esta combinación, pues me dejé llevar por la creatividad y escogí el fucsia para empezar el tejido, seguí con el amarillo para que le diera luz al tejido y después tejí otra serie de puntos con el azul.
La combinación que resultó me encantó y repetí esta secuencia hasta llegar al borde superior. En esta ocasión, usé un cierre diferente para una de las fundas. La verde y beige la terminé con las cadenetas de cada lado como argollas que se entrelazan en el asa de la taza y la de colores la terminé con un botón para cerrar. Me gustó mucho hacerlo así y estoy pensando tejer unas unicolores y comprar un botón bonito, estampado para que sea un detalle decorativo en la funda.
Cuando le mostré a mi hija estas fundas, se enamoró de la de colores y me pidió que se la regalara, así que esa es para ella. Se la obsequiaré con todo mi amor por hacerme una mamá feliz, afortunada y orgullosa.
Sigo tejiendo fundas para regalitos, pero no pude resistirme a mostrarles hoy las que tengo hechas ya. Estoy muy contenta de poder hacer estos detalles y regalárselos a personas muy especiales para mí.
