Good morning to all friends of the NeedleWorkMonday community! This is my first time posting on this community and I'm very happy to participate. Let me introduce myself: I'm Delilha, I write from Italy and in my free time I like to do embroidery and cross stitch works.
Today it is a pleasure to share my latest work with you: a gift for my mother. She is a great lover of art and, in particular, of the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt, founder of the artistic movement of the Viennese Secession. Among Klimt's most important works we undoubtedly find a painting entitled "The Kiss", made in 1907. For this reason, when I found the guided canvas representing this painting, I immediately decided that it would be a work for me.
Buongiorno a tutti gli amici della community NeedleWorkMonday! È la prima volta che pubblico su questa community e sono molto felice di parteciparvi. Mi presento: sono Delilha, scrivo dall’Italia e nel tempo libero mi piace realizzare lavori di ricamo e punto croce.
Oggi è un piacere condividere con voi il mio ultimo lavoro: un regalo per mia mamma. Lei è una grande appassionata di arte e, in particolare, dell’artista austriaco Gustav Klimt, fondatore del movimento artistico della Secessione Viennese. Tra le opere più importanti di Klimt troviamo senza subbio un quadro dal titolo “Il Bacio”, realizzato nel 1907. Per questo motivo, quando ho trovato la tela guidata rappresentante questo quadro, ho subito deciso che sarebbe stato un lavoro per me.
It wasn't easy. In fact, this is the largest cross stitch work I've done so far: 129 x 173 cm! The creative process was as follows:
- First of all, I purchased the canvas at the store;
- I studied the colors to use, based on those I already had available at home. I tried to choose bright and shiny colors, because the original painting contains gold details;
- I started embroidering from bottom to top, proceeding in small circular areas and with the cross stitch technique;
- Once the embroidery was finished, I washed the canvas well with soap, dried it and ironed it;
- Finally, I placed the work in a dark wooden frame with a golden profile.
I must admit that I am happy with the final result and the gift was much appreciated! I hope you like this artistic work of mine. Thanks for stopping by my Blog!

Non è stato facile. Infatti, questo è il lavoro a punto croce più grande che ho realizzato finora: 129 x 173 cm! Il processo creativo è stato il seguente:
- Prima di tutto, ho acquistato la tela presso il negozio;
- Ho studiato i colori da utilizzare, in base a quelli che avevo disponibili già a casa. Ho cercato di scegliere colori luminosi e brillanti, perché il quadro originale contiene dei dettagli in oro;
- Ho iniziato a ricamare dal basso verso l’altro, procedendo per piccole aree di forma circolare e con la tecnica del punto croce;
- Terminato il ricamo, ho lavato bene con il sapone, asciugato e stirato la tela;
- Infine, ho inserito il lavoro in una cornice di legno scuro con il profilo dorato.
Devo ammettere che sono contenta del risultato finale e il regalo è stato molto apprezzato! Spero che vi piaccia questo mio lavoro artistico. Grazie per essere passati sul mio Blog!
