That Hurts!
As the cards begin to level up, it is not uncommon to see an impressive number of abilities appear on the battlefield, giving rise to spectacular and sometimes unexpected combos. The Heavy Hitters ruleset from this week's Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge is certainly among those that can generate unexpected results, as there are few creatures with stun and the stunning of the creature hit is the prerequisite for the effect of this ruleset to occur.
The knock out ability, which is granted to each creature, doubles the damage dealt to stunned creatures.
To stun a creature this must have been hit in the previous turn by a creature with the stun ability.
The stun ability, however, has a 50% success rate...
A bit too complicated? Probably yes, and in fact the knock out ability is one of the least appreciated by players and it's very rare to see it in action successfully, especially since neither it nor the stun ability are very common, so it's hard to have two cards in the same game that can make this combo work.
Let's move onto the battlefield!
Let us then analyse a game played with this ruleset:
To confirm what has been said so far, the game under consideration does not feature any cards with the stun ability, so the Heavy Hitters ruleset proves to be... completely useless!
For the rest, the game sees two Light line-ups facing each other, but with very different formations.
The fact that all cards are equipped with the scattershot ability makes the match particularly chaotic and unpredictable.
And it is precisely the unforeseen which gives my team an advantage, when a blow manages to eliminate Adelade Brightwing from the opponent's line-up, preventing her from using the resurrect skill.
Meanwhile, Drybone Barbarian uses his huge offensive power to take down the opponent's tank, whose taunt ability proves useless in this match.
The other enemy creatures are rather fragile and, when confronted by my tank, soon find themselves in enormous trouble.
To the very last, the scattershot ability threatens to upset the outcome of the battle, but when even the last creature comes under attack from Drybone Barbarian, the fight can only end with my victory.
MVP of the match
Drybone Barbarian is a powerful card from the Rewards Soulbound set which, thanks to its stats and enrage ability, often manages to be very formidable, as it was in this match: its high Health and powerful Attack are such that it wiped out any possibility of a counterattack by my opponent.

The Heavy Hitters ruleset proves to be useless, because no cards were equipped with the stun ability: perhaps in a future expansion there will be more cards with this ability, or a special ruleset will be introduced... who knows!

Via via che le carte cominciano a salire di livello, sul campo di battaglia non è raro veder comparire un numero impressionante di abilità, capaci di dare vita a combo spettacolari e, a volte, inaspettate. Il ruleset Heavy Hitters che viene proposto dalla Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge di questa settimana rientra sicuramente tra quelli che possono generare risultati inaspettati, dato che le creature con stun sono poche e lo stordimento della creatura colpita è il presupposto per il prodursi dell'effetto di questo ruleset.
L'abilità knock out, che viene conferita ad ogni creatura, raddoppia i danni subiti dalle creature stordite.
Per stordire una creatura occorre che questa sia stata colpita nel turno precedente da una creatura con l'abilità stun.
L'abilità stun, tuttavia, ha un tasso di successo del 50%...
Un po' troppo complicato? Probabilmente sì, ed infatti l'abilità knock out è una delle meno apprezzate dai giocatori ed è molto raro vederla in azione con successo, soprattutto perchè nè questa nè l'abilità stun sono molto comuni, per cui è difficile che in una stessa partita siano presenti nello stesso schieramento due carte che riescano a far funzionare questa combo.
Spostiamoci sul Campo di Battaglia!
Passiamo allora ad analizzare una partita disputata con questa regola di gioco:
A conferma di quanto detto sinora, la partita in esame non vede presente nessuna carta con l'abilità stun, per cui il ruleset Heavy Hitters si rivela... completamente inutile!
Per il resto la partita vede fronteggiarsi due schieramenti della Luce, ma con formazione molto diverse.
Il fatto che tutte le carte vengano dotate dell'abilità scattershot rende il match particolarmente caotico ed imprevedibile!
Ed proprio l'imprevisto a dare un vantaggio al mio team, quando un colpo riesce ad eliminare dallo schieramento avversario Adelade Brightwing, impedendole di utilizzare l'abilità resurrect.
Nel mentre, Drybone Barbarian sfrutta il suo enorme potere offensivo per abbattere il tank avversario, la cui abilità taunt si rivela inutile in questa partita.
Le altre creature nemiche sono piuttosto fragili e, messe di fronte al mio tank, si trovano presto in enorme difficoltà.
Fino all'ultimo l'abilità scattershot rischia di sconvolgere l'esito della battaglia, ma quando anche l'ultima creatura si trova a subire gli attacchi di Drybone Barbarian, la sfida non può che finire con la mia vittoria.
MVP della partita
Drybone Barbarian è una potente carta del set Rewards Soulbound che, grazie alle sue statistiche ed all'abilità enrage, riesce spesso a risultare formidabile, come in questa partita: la sua alta Salute ed il suo Attacco possente sono tali da spazzare via ogni possibilità di contrattacco da parte del mio avversario.

Il ruleset Heavy Hitters si rivela invece inutile, perchè nessuna carta è dotata dell'abilità stun: forse in futuro in una nuova espansione le carte dotate di questa abilità saranno più comuni, oppure sarà introdotto un ruleset apposito... chissà!
