Here is a data card for the Hive chain for 2023!
I have designed a similar card for one of the initiative in LatAm, but that one was with more focus on HBD.
This one is more general and focused on 2023. Free to use if anyone needs it.
Some key numbers from above:
- 570M transactions (zero fees ;) ), averaging 1.6M per day
- 500k accounts made some type of operation on the chain (mostly gaming)
- 33k accounts made a post or a comment
- 10M posts and comments (1M posts)
- 13M in USD value distributed to users for all type of rewards
- 35k accounts recived some form of reward
What are all those active accounts doing without earning? Splinterlands? We need a lot more to be actually engaging socially.
BTW Do you know of any estimates for how much energy Hive uses? It would be useful to counter those who say crypto is wasteful. I suspect it's not that massive relative to the number of transactions.
Yes mostly Splinterlands.
On the energy uses, its not a lot at all. I thnik @gtg had a post recently about it.
Oh yes, my recent post can show how not-much consensus node can use. Of course usually nodes consume a lot more but even if it's 10-20x... it's still negligible compared to PoW based networks.

The future of Hive is gaming. A million bloggers won't come to Hive, a million players can come to Hive and that will make this blockchain great.
There are certnaly some indication in that direction :)
Nice numbers, even better would be if they were higher than the ones from 2022.
I'm afraid they are a bit lower when compared to 2022. Especialy the data related to gaming/Splinterlands. The post/curation data is quite consistent.

Impressive data, this kind of statistics should be shared in various platform not only in Hive but also on Web2 social media.
These are nice numbers but I strongly believe it can still greatly improve ahead of next year
