My most sincere congratulations to the winners of week #10, who with their talent and dedication have given us exceptional works, serving as a powerful inspiration for us all to reach new heights of excellence. I am rehearsing a song that requires more hours of work, study, and concentration. I am sure that the effort will be worth it in the coming weeks. Today I share with you my trumpet performance of "I Have Nothing", a pop ballad with elements of R&B and Soul popularized by Whitney Houston, and composed by David Foster and Linda Thompson. The lyrics address themes such as unconditional love, emotional dependence, vulnerability, and commitment. Surely, you will remember it as part of the soundtrack of the film The Bodyguard. Another of my favorite songs is “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton. Whitney's vocal talent was extremely amazing. Her powerful voice and charisma made her stand out in that golden era.

Hoy les comparto mi performance con la trompeta de «I Have Nothing», una balada pop con elementos de R&B y Soul popularizada por Whitney Houston, compuesta por David Foster y Linda Thompson. La letra aborda temas como el amor incondicional, la dependencia emocional, la vulnerabilidad y el compromiso. Seguramente, la recordarán como parte de la banda sonora de la película The Bodyguard. Otro de mis temas favoritos es “I Will Always Love You” de Dolly Parton. El talento vocal de Whitney era sumamente asombroso. Su poderosa voz y carisma la hacían destacar en esa época dorada.
Technically, it is not a particularly demanding piece of music for the trumpet. However, this instrument is temperamental and probably not my best week. I've made a real effort to connect with the essence of the song. The song features long, melodic phrases that require precise breathing control. The melody moves through a wide tonal range, from the low register to the high register. The piece uses a variety of fingerings, including rapid position changes and register jumps. The other aspects have to do with phrasing, dynamics, and musicality. All these elements together generate a precise, moving, and clear interpretation. I sincerely hope you enjoy my interpretation. It has been a rewarding experience and personal growth. I wish you all the greatest success.

Técnicamente, no es una pieza musical especialmente exigente para la trompeta. Sin embargo, este instrumento es temperamental y probablemente no sea mi mejor semana. He hecho un esfuerzo real para conectarme con la esencia de la canción. La canción presenta frases largas y melódicas que exigen un control preciso de la respiración. La melodía se mueve por un amplio rango tonal, desde el registro grave hasta el agudo. La pieza utiliza una variedad de digitaciones, incluyendo cambios rápidos de posición y saltos de registro. Los otros aspectos tienen que ver con el fraseo, la dinámica y la musicalidad. Todos esos elementos unidos generan una interpretación precisa, conmovedora y con claridad.
