The late 1990s saw the emergence of a game that would go on to make its mark on the world of entertainment over the years as it became a media franchise that would spawn video games, comics, movies and anime series through the decades, including the current decade.
Created by Core Design, a British video game development studio, the development team was led by Toby Gard, who worked on the character design, gameplay and story of the game.

Tomb Raider, released in 1996, is an action-adventure game that follows the thrilling exploits of the intrepid archaeologist Lara Croft, some say an emulation of Indiana Jones.
It was released in addition to the PC for the Sega Saturn, PlayStation, and N-Gage consoles.
The game's plot revolves around Lara, who is hired by a businesswoman named Natla, of Natla Technologies, to find a fragment of a powerful Atlantean artifact: the Scion, which takes her to Peru, Greece, Egypt, and Atlantis, where she enters a series of dangerous tombs and ancient ruins in search of relics and hidden treasures.
As players control Lara, they must face numerous challenges, including solving puzzles, avoiding deadly traps, and confronting hostile enemies.
