Traditions in various regions are different, such as in the western tip of Indonesia, in Aceh to be precise.
The tradition of Meugang Cuma is in the Aceh region, every Muslim holiday, such as a holiday or Eid, there is always a meugang day, every market is filled with beef or buffalo.
Like earlier when I went to the market, every road leading to the market was filled with people who wanted to shop to welcome the big Muslim day.
They are willing to jostle to shop on meugang day, to buy beef and other necessities.
Because the market will be closed for the next few days, all traders return to their hometowns to meet their relatives in the village.
So people who shop must spend as much as possible to meet housing needs for the next few days.
